Sr Manager, Platform SRE Engineering (Saudi National)

A leading organisation within the financial services sector is seeking an experienced for leading the development and operation of scalable, secure, and highly resilient technology platforms.

This role is responsible for driving the platform engineering strategy, embedding Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices, and ensuring critical systems achieve availability, performance, and recovery objectives while enabling faster and more efficient product delivery.

Responsibilities

• Define and execute the platform engineering and resilience strategy in alignment with business objectives.
• Lead the development and management of cloud infrastructure, platform services, and SRE capabilities.
• Establish and maintain reliability frameworks, including SLAs, SLOs, and SLIs, and ensure adherence across platforms.
• Drive high availability, disaster recovery (DR), and business continuity planning initiatives.
• Oversee incident management processes, root cause analysis, and continuous improvement activities.
• Champion automation initiatives, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps practices across engineering teams.
• Ensure platform security, regulatory compliance, and effective risk mitigation measures.
• Optimize cloud environments to improve cost efficiency, performance, and scalability.
• Collaborate closely with engineering, product, and security teams to drive platform adoption and continuous enhancement.
• Build, lead, and develop high-performing engineering teams.

Requirements

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in platform engineering, infrastructure engineering, or cloud engineering.
• At least 5 years of leadership experience managing engineering teams.
• Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Proven experience implementing Site Reliability Engineering (SRE), resilience, and disaster recovery strategies.
• Strong experience in incident management and production support environments.
• Solid understanding of security principles, networking, and distributed systems architecture.
