Job Title: DevOps Cloud Engineer

Employment Type: Full-Time

Locations: Raleigh, NC | Richardson, TX | Tempe, AZ


Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced DevOps Cloud Engineer (Infrastructure Consultant 3) to design, implement, and support secure, scalable, and high-performing cloud infrastructure solutions. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in cloud platforms, DevOps, automation, infrastructure monitoring, CI/CD, system optimization, security, and incident management. This role requires collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver enterprise infrastructure solutions while driving automation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Infrastructure Design & Implementation

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-availability cloud infrastructure.
  • Evaluate existing infrastructure, identify risks and gaps, and recommend improvements.
  • Develop infrastructure solutions aligned with business and technical requirements.
  • Ensure infrastructure readiness for application deployments and production releases.

Monitoring & Incident Management

  • Develop monitoring frameworks and diagnostic tools for proactive infrastructure management.
  • Perform root cause analysis (RCA) for complex production incidents and implement preventive measures.
  • Ensure adherence to SLAs by resolving infrastructure issues efficiently.
  • Create monitoring dashboards and alerts to improve system reliability.

Deployment & Automation

  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines for application and infrastructure deployments.
  • Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
  • Troubleshoot deployment issues and maintain deployment documentation.
  • Improve release processes through automation and DevOps best practices.

Performance Optimization

  • Monitor system performance, capacity utilization, and infrastructure health.
  • Identify bottlenecks and implement performance tuning strategies.
  • Recommend infrastructure improvements for enhanced scalability and reliability.

Security & Compliance

  • Implement cloud security best practices, access controls, and compliance standards.
  • Perform risk assessments and implement disaster recovery and backup strategies.
  • Ensure secure infrastructure configurations and vulnerability remediation.

Change Management

  • Develop and implement structured change management processes.
  • Evaluate infrastructure changes and assess associated risks.
  • Coordinate technology upgrades while minimizing production impact.

Collaboration & Documentation

  • Work closely with development, QA, security, operations, and infrastructure teams.
  • Collaborate with multi-vendor teams to ensure successful project execution.
  • Create and maintain infrastructure documentation, knowledge repositories, SOPs, and deployment guides.
  • Share technical knowledge and mentor junior team members when required.

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve operational efficiency.
  • Evaluate new cloud and DevOps technologies for enterprise adoption.
  • Drive infrastructure modernization and process optimization initiatives.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in Cloud Infrastructure, DevOps, or Systems Engineering.
  • Strong experience with AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
  • Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, ARM Templates, or Bicep).
  • Strong knowledge of CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI/CD.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and container orchestration.
  • Proficiency in scripting using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
  • Experience with monitoring tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, Splunk, Datadog, or CloudWatch.
  • Knowledge of networking, DNS, load balancing, firewalls, and cloud security.
  • Strong troubleshooting, analytical, and communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible, Chef, or Puppet.
  • Knowledge of DevSecOps practices and security automation.
  • Experience with disaster recovery and high-availability architecture.
  • Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies.
  • Cloud certifications (AWS, Azure, or GCP) are preferred.
