Optomi, in partnership with an industry-leading technology organization, is seeking a Senior Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to join their team. This individual will play a key role in driving automation, reducing operational toil, modernizing legacy platforms, and improving the reliability and delivery of critical applications and services.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement automation solutions to streamline operational processes and improve engineering efficiency.
  • Develop and maintain Python-based tooling and automation workflows.
  • Support infrastructure as code initiatives using Terraform, including module management and version upgrades.
  • Manage and secure cloud infrastructure, with a strong focus on AWS services including IAM, KMS, and Secrets Manager.
  • Build and optimize CI/CD pipelines using tools such as Harness, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, or GitLab CI.
  • Partner with engineering teams throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) to improve deployment practices and service reliability.
  • Support application infrastructure including load balancers, containerized environments, and cloud-native services.
  • Participate in modernization efforts, migrating legacy systems to current technologies and improving overall platform stability.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, automation standards, and operational best practices.

Required Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Site Reliability Engineering, Platform Engineering, DevOps, or related infrastructure roles.
  • Strong Python scripting and automation experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Terraform, including infrastructure management and version upgrades.
  • Strong AWS experience, particularly with IAM, KMS, Secrets Manager, and cloud security best practices.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation using tools such as Harness, Jenkins, GitHub, or GitLab.
  • Understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
  • Experience supporting applications built with technologies such as Node.js or Java.
  • Strong ownership mentality, communication skills, and ability to solve complex technical problems independently.

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with configuration management tools such as Ansible and Chef, including migration efforts between platforms.
  • Experience with container orchestration technologies including Kubernetes, ECS, Google App Engine, and related cloud-native services.
  • Experience with Google Cloud Platform services such as App Engine, Cloud Functions, Kubernetes, Firebase, and IAM.
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tools including CloudWatch, Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, or Elasticsearch.
  • Experience with infrastructure automation tools such as Atlantis.
  • Experience with messaging technologies such as RabbitMQ or Google Pub/Sub.
