AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

An AWS Cloud Operations Architect (CoA) is a trusted advisor and cloud operations architect for our Enterprise Support customers. As a trusted advisor you'll have a direct impact in helping our customers gain the most value from cloud technology. You'll craft and execute strategies to drive our customers' adoption and use of AWS services. You will provide advocacy and technical guidance to help plan and build solutions using best practices, and proactively keep your customers' AWS environments operationally healthy.

This is a post-sales advisory role within our Enterprise Support team. The close relationships developed with your customers will allow you to understand their business and operational needs and technical challenges, and help them achieve the greatest value from cloud technologies. You will work with Public Sector customers in Norway — including government agencies, municipalities, and public institutions — providing strategic technical guidance, helping plan and build solutions using best practices, and proactively keeping their AWS environments operationally healthy.

Our Cloud Operations Architects partner with some of the most impactful organizations in the Nordic public sector. You'll provide advice on architecture, support strategy, project and launch planning, as well as ongoing operational issues. As we continue to expand, you'll have plenty of opportunities to develop your technical, consulting, and leadership skills. You'll work with talented cloud technologists whilst expanding your knowledge of AWS products.

Key job responsibilities

  • Provide customers with technical expertise across multiple technology domains to achieve operational excellence in security, resilience, and efficiency
  • Serve as a trusted advisor for Enterprise Support Public Sector customers in Norway, driving technical discussions regarding incidents, trade-offs, and risk management
  • Provide architectural guidance and lead reviews using the AWS Well-Architected Framework to ensure solutions are designed for successful deployment in the cloud
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks, driving efficiencies and simplification in customer operations and product adoption
  • Collaborate with Solutions Architects, Account Managers, and other internal teams to solve your customers' most challenging technical problems
  • Develop trusting relationships with customers across multiple levels, understanding their business needs and technical challenges
  • Uplift customer capabilities by running workshops, enablement sessions, and operational reviews
  • With a bias for action, proactively find opportunities for customers to gain additional value from AWS

About The Team

Our EMEA North TAM team is dedicated to supporting Enterprise Support customers across the Nordic region. We have a broad mix of experience levels and tenures, and we're building an environment that celebrates knowledge-sharing and mentorship. Our senior members enjoy one-on-one mentoring and collaboration across teams.

Basic Qualifications

  • Experience in technical engineering
  • Experience with operational parameters and troubleshooting for three (3) or more of the following: compute, storage, networking, CDN, databases, DevOps, big data and analytics, security, applications development in a distributed systems environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in internal enterprise or external customer-facing environment as a technical lead
  • Experience with AWS services or other cloud offerings
  • Experience working with Public Sector organizations (government, municipalities, public institutions)
  • Understanding of Nordic/European public sector compliance and procurement frameworks
  • Understanding of the AWS Well-Architected Framework and ability to apply it to customer architectures
  • Fluency in Norwegian (written and spoken)
  • AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or similar)
