Who Are You

• You either come from a system administration or operations/infrastructure. This role is heavily infrastructure-focused, hence you will need to know it well.
• You have worked in multiple projects and have multiple years of experience (3+) in the system administration field.
• You are open and candid about discussing fact-driven solutions, problems and improvements within your team and others in the engineering organization.
• You are a self-starting and constantly learning engineer and you are really willing to raise the bar of the value provided by the whole engineering team (dev and ops).
• Flexible to be on-call in a 24x7 rotating shift on a rotational basis with the team.
• Familiar with working in a globally distributed team with strong written and verbal English communication skills.

The inevitable list of skills and tools (it's ok to have some of these):

• Linux (debian/ubuntu): deployments, tuning, troubleshooting.
• Cloud: AWS(preferred), GCP, Azure.
• Server provisioning and bootstrapping protocols (dns, tftp, pxe).
• Web services and load balancing solutions: apache, haproxy, nginx.
• Databases and stores: mysql/postgres/redis etc.
• Distributed services like brokers and queues (kafka, rabbitmq).
• Automation tooling, both infrastructure and configuration based. terraform/ansible/packer etc.
• Monitoring and logging tools like New Relic, Datadog, Prometheus, ELK Elasticsearch stack.
• Programming languages: shell/bash, python, go.
• Network: tcp/ip, routing, vlan, etc and troubleshooting (tcpdump, snort, iproute, etc) is a plus.
• Encrypted Connections and VPNs: IpSec/OpenSSL/OpenVPN are a plus.
• Familiarity with BSD networking (pf and surrounding services) is a plus.

What You'll Be Doing

• Be playing a pivotal role in planning, deploying and maintaining server infrastructure automation and configuration.
• Be taking care of the whole deployment lifecycle of the server and operating system levels, to streamline the process for the rest of the engineering team.
• Troubleshoot and remediate issues impacting the operations and the core services of the Company.
• Help with the seamless integration and design of a transit network, deploy and maintenance between on-prem and public clouds (AWS/GCP/Azure).
• Implementing monitoring of the infrastructure and ensure high availability of systems and services.
• In consultation with Information Security, implement best practices and compliance.

Base Salary Range: €39,091- €49,254. The salary may be adjusted within this range based on the candidate's qualifications, experience, and the specific needs of the position.

Other Compensation: The position is eligible for a discretionary bonus
