Platform Engineer
Indexed description
We are expanding Duferco’s Corporate Innovation Team: a fast-moving engineering team operating in a startup-like environment, backed by the stability and scale of a global diversified group.
You will work across multiple companies and domains inside the group — including energy, trading, logistics, steel, insurance, sports, and other sectors — helping build and operate the cloud infrastructure, deployment systems, automation platforms, and internal developer tooling that power our next generation of software and AI-enabled systems.
We are looking for a DevOps / Platform Engineer with strong infrastructure and automation skills who wants to help design highly autonomous, resilient, and scalable systems. This role is not limited to maintaining infrastructure: you will actively shape how engineering, operations, AI automation, and internal platforms evolve across the organization.
About the Team
We sit close to real business problems and have the freedom to prototype and ship quickly. AI is already part of our daily workflow, and we expect that role to keep expanding.
We care about building things well, shipping systems that create leverage, and working with people who make the team better.
We appreciate engineers who enjoy ownership, fast iteration, pragmatic problem solving, and AI-assisted development.
What You’ll Do
- Build and maintain AWS-based infrastructure using services such as ECS, Fargate, EC2, Lambda, EKS, RDS, S3, CloudFront, API Gateway, IAM, and related services
- Design and manage Kubernetes-based workloads and containerized environments
- Develop Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and/or AWS CDK
- Build CI/CD pipelines and developer workflows using GitHub Actions and related tooling
- Create infrastructure automation systems focused on scalability, reliability, self-healing, and operational efficiency
- Improve observability, monitoring, alerting, deployment safety, and operational tooling
- Collaborate closely with software engineers, data engineers, and AI teams to enable fast and reliable delivery
- Develop AI-enabled operational automation, internal agents, MCP-based integrations, and autonomous workflows to reduce manual operational overhead
- Help evolve the organization toward a more autonomous engineering and infrastructure stack
- Evaluate and adopt modern cloud, platform engineering, and AI-native infrastructure approaches where they provide real leverage
What We Offer
- A high-autonomy role with direct influence on what gets built
- Modern AI-assisted engineering tools and time to explore new technologies and approaches
- A fast-moving, collaborative environment with talented and ambitious people
- A broad variety of technical and business challenges across different domains
- Competitive compensation and benefits
- Flexible working hours and hybrid work setup
You’re Probably a Fit If
- You have 4+ years working with cloud infrastructure and production systems, particularly on AWS
- You are comfortable designing and operating containerized workloads using Docker, ECS, Kubernetes, or similar technologies
- You have strong experience with Infrastructure such as Code using Terraform, AWS CDK, or equivalent tools
- You have experience building and maintaining CI/CD systems, preferably with GitHub Actions
- You think in terms of automation first, and naturally look for ways to eliminate repetitive operational work
- You are comfortable debugging distributed systems, infrastructure failures, networking issues, and deployment problems in production environments
- You care about reliability, scalability, observability, and developer experience — not just “keeping servers running”
- You actively use AI coding and automation tools — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, MCP-enabled workflows, or similar — and are interested in how AI changes infrastructure and operations workflows
- You make pragmatic trade-offs between speed, maintainability, operational simplicity, and engineering rigor
- You enjoy working across infrastructure, software, automation, and internal tooling rather than staying inside a narrow operational silo
Experience with platform engineering, Kubernetes operators, observability stacks, event-driven systems, internal developer platforms, LLM applications, agent frameworks, MCP servers, or large-scale automation systems is a strong plus.
You do not need experience with every technology we use. Strong engineering ability, adaptability, curiosity, and a strong automation mindset matter much more.
If this sounds like the right fit for you, we’d love to hear from you.
