We are seeking an experienced DevOps Engineer to design, build, and operate large-scale CI/CD and build platforms in the cloud while supporting critical on‑prem environments. This role requires deep hands-on expertise in AWS, Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), GitHub-based CI/CD workflows, and Linux systems, along with strong communication skills to work across engineering, security, and IT teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, build, and operate cloud-based CI/CD platforms at scale, supporting multiple engineering teams.
- Implement and manage Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform for AWS infrastructure.
- Build and support Software Build as a Service (SBaaS) platforms using GitHub, GitHub Actions, and self-hosted runners.
- Operate and optimize Debian-based CI/CD workflows in cloud (package builds, artifacts, reproducibility, automation).
- Support and administer Linux systems (primary) and Windows applications on‑prem as part of hybrid environments.
- Manage and scale large CI deployments in the cloud, including performance tuning, cost optimization, and reliability.
- Integrate CI/CD pipelines with source code management systems such as GitHub, Perforce (P4), and similar tools.
- Support containerized workflows by implementing and managing Kubernetes-based GitHub runners, with automated lifecycle management to dynamically scale CI/CD execution environments.
- Implement security best practices across CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure, and access controls.
- Troubleshoot complex build, infrastructure, and pipeline issues across cloud and on‑prem environments.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, IT, security, and compliance teams to deliver reliable platforms.
- Create clear documentation, operational runbooks, and architectural designs.
- Strong hands-on experience with AWS (VPCs, EC2, IAM, S3, networking, security).
- Deep expertise in Terraform and Infrastructure as Code best practices.
- Strong experience building CI/CD pipelines in the cloud, especially using GitHub and GitHub Actions.
- Experience running and scaling self-hosted CI runners.
- Strong understanding of Debian-based Linux systems and CI/CD workflows.
- Strong Linux OS administration skills (troubleshooting, performance, automation).
- Experience supporting Windows application environments on‑prem.
- Proven experience supporting large-scale CI or build systems used by multiple teams.
- Solid understanding of source code management systems (GitHub, Perforce, Git workflows).
- Strong scripting and automation skills (Bash, Python, or similar).
- Excellent communication skills — able to explain complex ideas clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with hybrid cloud / on‑prem architectures.
- Knowledge of artifact repositories, package management, or build caching strategies.
- Experience with cost optimization and performance tuning in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with security, compliance, and access controls in CI/CD platforms.
- Experience supporting developer productivity platforms at enterprise scale.
- Exposure to container-based CI workloads (Docker, runners, ephemeral environments).
- 3+ years of IT-related work experience with a Bachelor's degree.
