Oracle Cloud Architect

Role Purpose

The OCI Cloud Architect is responsible for designing and shaping Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) solutions that support Beyon Solutions’ Sovereign Cloud and Oracle Alloy strategy. The role sits in Technology within the Cloud & Infrastructure team and will work closely with Sales, Bid Management, PMO, teams to define secure, scalable, and commercially viable cloud architectures while supporting customer engagements and pre-sales activities.

The role acts as a bridge between business requirements and technical execution, ensuring Oracle cloud solutions are aligned with customer needs, delivery capabilities, and strategic objectives.

Key Responsibilities

1. Solution Architecture & Design

• Design OCI-based cloud architecture aligned with customer and business requirements.
• Define reference architectures, landing zones, networking, security, HA/DR, and hybrid cloud designs.
• Ensure solutions follow Oracle best practices and security standards.

2. Pre-Sales & Customer Engagement

• Support Sales and Bid teams during customer engagements, workshops, and proposal activities.
• Translate customer requirements into scalable OCI solutions and delivery models.
• Participate in presentations, solution demonstrations, and technical discussions with clients.

3. Delivery Feasibility & Governance

• Work with PMO and delivery teams to validate implementation feasibility, timelines, dependencies, and risks.
• Support project initiation and transition from pre-sales into delivery.
• Ensure architectural alignment across infrastructure, security, networking, and platform components.

4. Oracle Alloy & Sovereign Cloud Enablement

• Support the establishment and evolution of the Sovereign Cloud powered by Oracle Alloy.
• Contribute to service catalog development, operational standards, and technical governance.

5. Technical Leadership & Standards

• Provide technical guidance to engineers and project teams.
• Contribute to cloud standards, templates, automation approaches, and best practices.
• Stay current with OCI, cloud-native, and hybrid cloud developments.

Key Skills & Experience

Technical

• Strong Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) architecture knowledge
• Cloud networking, IAM, security, and governance
• Hybrid cloud and migration architecture
• High availability and disaster recovery design
• Infrastructure-as-Code and automation concepts
• Understanding of Oracle databases, middleware, and enterprise platforms

Commercial & Consulting

• Customer-facing and workshop facilitation experience
• Pre-sales and proposal support experience
• Ability to communicate architecture concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders

Preferred Certifications

• OCI Architect Professional
• OCI Architect Associate
• Oracle Cloud certifications
• Terraform / cloud automation certifications (preferred)

SFIA Alignment
