We are the Global Shared Services Centre for a major client RGE (Royal Golden Eagle), one of the world’s largest resource-based manufacturing groups with diversified business in Pulp and Paper, Palm Oil (upstream & downstream), Viscose Fiber, FMCG, Energy, and other business segments. As Head of Global Infrastructure Operations, you will co-lead the design, delivery, and management of cloud infrastructure, data centre operations, and enterprise networking across all Group business units globally. With the organisation undergoing a major cloud transformation, you will be instrumental in driving the migration of workloads to hyperscale cloud platforms, modernising network architecture, and ensuring world-class infrastructure availability, performance, and resilience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cloud infrastructure operations and execution, including migration of on-premise workloads to Azure, AWS, or multi-cloud environments.
- Oversee global enterprise network operations (WAN, LAN, SD-WAN, MPLS, VPN)
- Drive infrastructure modernisation through the use of automation and agentic AI, including server virtualisation, containerisation (Kubernetes, Docker), Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, Ansible), and hybrid cloud architecture.
- Ensure 24/7 infrastructure and network availability through robust monitoring (Datadog, SolarWinds), incident management, and disaster recovery / business continuity planning.
- Manage data centre operations (co-location and on-premise) including capacity planning, lifecycle management, and decommissioning strategies.
- Establish and enforce infrastructure governance, standard operating procedures, and change management protocols aligned with ITIL best practices.
- Manage vendor relationships with cloud providers, network carriers, managed service providers, and hardware OEMs.
- Build, mentor, and lead a geographically distributed team of cloud engineers, server engineers, network engineers, and virtualisation engineers.
- Collaborate with Cybersecurity & EA on secure infrastructure design, zero-trust network architecture, and cloud security posture management.
- Report on infrastructure KPIs, SLA performance, capacity forecasts, and risk posture to Group IT leadership.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Network Engineering, or related field; Master’s degree is an advantage.
- Minimum 12–15 years of IT infrastructure experience with at least 5 years in a senior leadership or deputy leadership role.
- Extensive experience with hyperscale cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) including IaaS, PaaS, and cloud networking.
- Deep knowledge of enterprise networking: SD-WAN, MPLS, BGP, OSPF, DNS, DHCP, firewall management, and load balancing.
- Hands-on experience with virtualisation technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and containerisation platforms (Kubernetes, Docker).
- Experience working in a shared services or global delivery model supporting multi-industry operations.
- Strong vendor management, contract negotiation, and budget management skills.
- Preferred Qualifications
- Cloud certifications: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, AWS Solutions Architect Professional, or Google Cloud Professional.
- Networking certifications: CCNP, CCIE, or equivalent.
