This position supports systems engineering and program-level functions across mission-critical space vehicles, ground systems, and fire control systems.
Responsibilities
Cloud Solution Design
- Architect and deploy secure and scalable cloud-based solutions tailored for rapidly standing up and supporting a national priority program team.
- Implement cloud infrastructure optimized for Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) processes including collaboration, data access, change management, and engineering workflows using Microsoft PLx tools.
- Scalability Design: Ensure cloud solutions accommodate growing workloads, increasing user demands, and future system integrations to support rapid acquisitions and DEE expansion.
- System Integration: Seamlessly integrate engineering tools (e.g., MBSE platforms, PLM software, CAD, and simulation tools) with the cloud environment to enhance PMO operations.
- Cybersecurity Frameworks: Implement security controls that adhere to DoD Risk Management Framework (RMF), Cybersecurity Maturity Model Certification (CMMC), and relevant guidelines such as NIST SP 800-53 and FedRAMP for handling classified or sensitive data.
- Access and Identity Management: Design secure Identity Access Management (IAM) frameworks to protect sensitive data and ensure operational compliance across all cloud workflows.
- STIG Compliance: Apply Security Technical Implementation Guide (STIG) requirements to all hosted cloud systems, ensuring hardened infrastructure and mission security readiness.
- Containerization: Enable rapid deployment of scalable and microservices-based solutions using container technologies.
- Infrastructure Automation: Use Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools such as Terraform, Ansible, and AWS CloudFormation to automate provisioning, monitoring, and patch management for cloud resources that support team objectives.
- High Availability: Architect fault-tolerant and redundant systems optimized for uninterrupted support to program management office workflows and acquisitions.
- Data and Collaboration Solutions: Design and deploy databases and storage systems for managing lifecycle engineering data and deliverables associated with rapid acquisition operations.
- Collaboration Frameworks: Support simultaneous access to PMO tools and workflows by multidisciplinary teams, ensuring efficient and secure communication of program-critical information.
- Disaster Recovery Protocols: Build robust disaster recovery solutions to safeguard Golden Dome SBI PMO operations and ensure resilience across all engineering and acquisition activities.
- Optimize cloud-based solutions to meet compute-intensive demands of engineering workflows and ensure efficiency in acquisition deliverables.
- Cost Optimization: Develop strategies to manage program budgets without sacrificing performance or functionality, ensuring cloud operations remain scalable and cost-effective.
- Emerging Capabilities: Design solutions that enable the team to adopt emerging technologies, tools, and engineering frameworks in alignment with overall program goals.
- AI/ML Integration: Architect cloud-enabled artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions to support predictive analytics and decision-making for acquisitions and program operations.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Partner with program managers, engineers, cybersecurity experts, and cross-functional teams to align cloud designs with operational needs.
- Develop and maintain detailed architectural design documents to ensure smooth support and scalability of workflows.
- 10+ years of cloud architecture experience, including work supporting government, defense, or aerospace environments.
- Expertise with Digital Engineering Environment tools and their integration into cloud architectures to enable secure lifecycle management and collaboration frameworks.
- Proven proficiency in DoD compliance frameworks, including RMF, CMMC, FedRAMP, NIST SP 800-53, and STIG standards.
- Practical experience with creating automated cloud infrastructures using IoC tools like Terraform, Ansible, and CloudFormation.
- Extensive knowledge of containerization tools and their application to scalable engineering workflows.
- Strong foundation in digital engineering tools and methodologies, including MBSE systems, PLM tools, and simulation platforms.
- 15+ years of cloud architecture experience, including work with SAP/SCI environments and supporting high-security mission-critical operations.
- Master’s degree in Cloud Computing, Systems Engineering, or related fields is preferred but not required.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies and DevSecOps environments to support rapid system prototyping and PMO agility for acquisitions.
- Expertise integrating AI/ML frameworks into cloud-based solutions to promote predictive analytics for efficiency.
- Active TOP SECRET (TS) clearance with eligibility for Sensitive Compartmentalized Information (SCI).
- U.S. Citizenship is required for this position.
