At Fortive, we empower creativity and bold thinking to unlock breakthrough solutions and accelerate innovation. We are committed to building diverse, high-performing teams and believe that inclusive talent strategies create a competitive advantage in the markets we serve.

Role Overview

We are seeking a highly strategic and proactive Strategic Sourcing Partner, Product & Engineering to drive top-of-funnel talent strategy across critical Product and Engineering functions, including Software Engineering, Data & Analytics, Product Management, AI/ML, and other technical roles.

This role is focused on talent market mapping, proactive pipelining, and engagement of passive candidates. The ideal candidate brings deep expertise in technical talent markets, understands evolving engineering skillsets, and excels at identifying and attracting top-tier talent ahead of demand. You will partner closely with recruiters, TA leaders, engineering leaders, and product stakeholders to shape talent strategies and ensure strong, diverse pipelines for current and future hiring needs.

This is a pipeline-first role focused on proactive sourcing, early-stage candidate screening, and talent market strategy, not full-cycle recruiting.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Talent Mapping & Market Intelligence

  • Conduct in-depth research on technical talent markets, including emerging skill trends (e.g., cloud-native, AI/ML, DevOps, cybersecurity)
  • Identify key talent pools, competitor landscapes, and niche technical communities
  • Provide insights on talent availability, compensation benchmarks, and hiring risks to inform workforce planning

Advanced Sourcing Strategy

  • Design and execute innovative, multi-channel sourcing strategies targeting highly specialized technical talent
  • Leverage tools such as LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, Stack Overflow, AI-enabled sourcing platforms, and talent mapping techniques
  • Engage in creative sourcing approaches, including open-source communities, technical forums, and industry events

Proactive Talent Pipelining

  • Build and maintain robust pipelines of passive candidates across hard-to-fill technical roles
  • Develop long-term engagement strategies for high-demand talent segments (e.g., backend, frontend, cloud, data engineering, product leaders)
  • Align pipelines to anticipated hiring needs and business growth initiatives

Candidate Engagement & Experience

  • Deliver personalized, high-touch outreach tailored to technical audiences
  • Build credibility with engineers and product leaders by demonstrating understanding of their work, technologies, and career motivations
  • Create a differentiated candidate experience that reflects Fortive’s innovation culture and employer brand

Partnership with Talent Acquisition & Business Leaders

  • Collaborate with TA Partners, Engineering Leaders, and Product stakeholders to align on technical requirements, competencies, and market strategy
  • Participate in intake sessions and ongoing calibration to refine search strategies for complex technical roles
  • Provide consultative guidance on talent market realities and hiring competitiveness

Data-Driven Sourcing Excellence

  • Track and analyze sourcing metrics (pipeline health, conversion rates, diversity mix) specific to technical hiring
  • Continuously refine sourcing strategies based on performance insights and evolving market conditions
  • Use data to influence hiring strategies and improve time-to-engage for critical roles

Employer Brand Amplification

  • Activate employer branding strategies within technical communities and platforms
  • Represent Fortive as a compelling destination for engineering and product talent
  • Engage in external communities to build awareness and credibility in the technical talent market

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in Talent Acquisition, Sourcing, or related HR discipline
  • 4+ years' experience in strategic sourcing for Product & Engineering roles (e.g., Software Engineering, Product Management, Data, Cloud/Infrastructure)
  • Proven track record of building pipelines for highly technical, hard-to-fill roles
  • Strong expertise in sourcing tools, including LinkedIn Recruiter, GitHub, technical platforms, and AI-enabled search technologies
  • Solid understanding of technical skillsets, engineering org structures, and product development environments
  • Strong analytical mindset with ability to translate technical talent market data into actionable insights
  • Excellent communication and candidate engagement skills across global and diverse technical talent pools
  • Thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and adjusts strategies based on evolving technology trends

Preferred Qualifications

  • Technical Acumen: Ability to understand engineering roles, tech stacks, and product lifecycle concepts at a functional level
  • Strategic Thinking: Ability to anticipate technical talent needs and proactively build pipelines aligned to product and engineering roadmaps
  • Collaboration: Strong partnership mindset with the ability to influence engineering leaders, hiring managers, and TA stakeholders
  • Business Acumen: Understanding of how product and engineering talent drives innovation and business outcomes
  • Relationship Building: Strong networking capability with demonstrated success engaging passive technical talent
