Position Overview
We are seeking a data-driven, technically advanced Sr. Paid Search Specialist to help lead the strategy, execution, optimization, and technical automation of our paid search engine marketing campaigns across multiple platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Microsoft Ads). In this role, you will bridge the gap between performance marketing and technical automation, serving as a strategic lead who transforms raw search metrics into meaningful recommendations that directly impact BuildASign’s profitability and growth trajectory.
You will play a key role in planning, managing, and improving campaigns that drive both volume and profitability, from keyword research and ad copy to bidding, budget allocation, landing page alignment, tracking, and reporting. Beyond traditional manual account optimization, you will be responsible for architecting the automation infrastructure—leveraging AI tools, workflow systems, and scripts—to scale campaign builds, monitor account health, and drive operational efficiency across our portfolio of brands.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Management & Strategy: Plan, set up, execute, monitor, and optimize paid search campaigns (Google Search, Shopping, Performance Max, Microsoft Ads, etc.) to drive volume and profitability.
AI-Driven Campaign Creation: Utilize Generative AI tools (e.g., ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or specialized AI marketing platforms) to automate keyword research, generate highly converting ad copy, and structure campaigns at scale.
Workflow Automation: Design, build, and maintain multi-step automation workflows using technical systems (e.g., n8n, Make, or Zapier) to connect CRMs, analytics infrastructure, and advertising platforms.
Google Ads Scripting: Write, deploy, and troubleshoot custom Google Ads Scripts (JavaScript) to automate routine account maintenance, bid adjustments, budget pacing, and anomaly detection.
Data-Driven Decisions & Analytics: Regularly analyze complex datasets to identify performance trends and provide actionable recommendations. Setup, maintain, and analyze campaign tracking (conversion tracking, attribution modeling, setting up/troubleshooting tags, pixels, etc.).
Automated Monitoring & Alerting: Develop automated reporting solutions and real-time alert systems (via Slack, email, or SMS) to monitor campaign health, ROAS thresholds, and sudden performance fluctuations without manual daily checks.
Data & Feed Management: Automate the optimization and structuring of product data feeds for Google Shopping and Performance Max campaigns using automated rules or custom scripts.
Continuous Optimization & A/B Testing: Run A/B and multivariate experiments (ad copy, landing pages, targeting) to continuously improve performance. Implement automated protocols allowing systems to independently rotate winning variations based on statistical significance.
Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate closely with creative for ad assets, web/product for landing page experience, and analytics/BI teams for automated reporting and data warehouse synergy.
Qualifications & Skills
Required:
Bachelor’s degree (Marketing, Business, Communications, or related field) or equivalent experience.
3–5 years of experience in Paid Search or Data Analytics, with a proven ability to translate complex datasets into high-impact performance optimizations.
Scripting Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of JavaScript, specifically applied to writing, modifying, and troubleshooting custom Google Ads Scripts.
Workflow Automation: Proven, hands-on experience building complex, multi-step automation workflows using tools like n8n, Make, or Zapier.
AI Tool Competency: Deep understanding of how to prompt and integrate Large Language Models (LLMs) via APIs to generate marketing assets and analyze performance datasets.
Strong analytical skills; complete command and mastery of Paid Search, including automated bidding, account health, conversion tracking, attribution modeling, and platform tags/pixels.
High level of comfort working with data interfaces and tools like Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Excel, or Google Sheets.
Autonomy in problem solving, breaking down larger automation tasks into smaller increments of work to make progress efficiently.
Keen attention to detail and a self-starter attitude; able to work independently and manage priorities across multiple brands and campaigns.
Nice to Have / Differentiators:
Familiarity with automation tools or scripts (e.g., bid automation, automated rules, API or scripts in Google Ads).
Experience with cloud functions (AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions) or basic Python for advanced data manipulation.
Familiarity with SQL or Google BigQuery for analyzing large performance datasets.
Experience with large-scale campaigns (higher ad spend, higher SKU counts, or complex geo/market segments).
Prior experience with Google Shopping / PLA campaigns or e-commerce feed management.
Performance Metrics & Expectations
Target ROI or ROAS thresholds for paid search campaigns.
Cost per acquisition (CPA) goals.
Growth in conversion volume while maintaining or improving efficiency.
Campaign quality metrics: click-through rate (CTR), Quality Score / ad relevance, and ad copy performance.
Accurate, timely, and automated reporting and performance alerts.

Reports to: Director of Paid Search.
Works closely with: Creative, Product Marketing, Content / SEO, Web / UX, and Analytics/BI teams.
