What You'll Be Doing
- Playing a crucial role in designing cutting-edge solutions from various vendors and enhancing existing virtualization platforms to meet evolving business needs.
- Working closely with customers to define project scopes, understand requirements, and design robust, scalable, and secure virtualization architectures.
- Designing and implementing virtualization solutions using VMware vSphere, vCenter, VSAN, NSX-T, Aria Operations, and Aria Orchestration.
- Collaborating with stakeholders to define business needs and translate them into technical solutions.
- Creating detailed architecture documentation and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Leading the transition and handover of infrastructure to operational teams, with a strong focus on automation.
- Providing Level 3 support for complex virtualization issues and ensuring service availability and confidentiality.
- Coaching and transferring knowledge to operational teams to foster a collaborative and skilled environment.
- Supporting production environments, including occasional work outside business hours.
- Ensuring alignment with ITIL, project management methodologies, and SAFe Agile frameworks.
- Designing and implementing high-availability, secure, and resilient virtualization environments.
- Monitoring and troubleshooting network components and configurations related to virtualization platforms.
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
- Minimum 10 years of experience in virtualization architecture and design, particularly with VMware technologies.
- Deep technical knowledge of VMware vSphere, vCenter, VSAN, NSX-T, Aria Operations, Aria Orchestration, and Aria Automation.
- Strong analytical skills to create current and future state architecture documents, including automation workflows and integration models.
- Effective communication skills to convey complex technical concepts to stakeholders at all levels.
- Familiarity with networking concepts, including configuration and monitoring of virtualized network components.
- Knowledge of PKS (Pivotal Container Service) is considered an asset.
- Relevant certifications in virtualization technologies.
- Experience working in medium to large IT environments (minimum 5 years).
- Understanding of ITIL processes, project management, and Agile methodologies.
- A strong commitment to automation, efficiency, and continuous improvement.
- Excellent command of both spoken and written English.
