Platform / DevOps Engineer (m/w/d)

AI‑Enabled Infrastructure | Vienna, Austria

This is a role for builders, doers and owners.

Our client is a technology‑driven investment firm operating at the intersection of engineering, data and global markets. They build proprietary systems that run mission‑critical infrastructure for research, data processing and live trading. Reliability, performance and speed are not buzzwords here - they are business‑critical.
Vienna is a strategic growth location. This role will play a key part in shaping the local setup and culture from the ground up.

The Mindset

We are looking for character first.
You take ownership.
You want to make things work - not just talk about them.
This is an environment where:

  • Everyone contributes directly to the company's success
  • Work is intense, fast and sometimes unpredictable
  • Customers and stakeholders are real, demanding and close to the business
There is drive, ambition and shared responsibility.
The team is:
  • Optimistic and forward‑thinking
  • Curious and experimental with new technologies
  • Non‑traditional, hands‑on and pragmatic
  • Open to leadership, initiative and people who stand up and move things forward
If you enjoy trying, failing, adapting and improving, you will feel at home.

The Technical Side

This role sits between platform engineering, DevOps and production reliability.
You don't need to be a textbook senior. A strong junior with the right attitude is just as welcome.

Core Topics

  • AWS in multi‑account, multi‑region setups
  • Kubernetes at scale (large clusters, EKS or similar)
  • Windows‑based environments
  • Deployment‑focused operations (more Ops than pure Dev)
  • Infrastructure automation (IaC is a plus, not a must)

Nice to Have - Not Mandatory

  • Terraform or similar tools
  • CI/CD pipelines and automation
  • Networking fundamentals
  • Interest in AI / ML infrastructure and operations
  • Experience with large‑scale or latency‑sensitive systems
Geek mentality is highly appreciated.
Home‑lab builders, curious tinkerers and people who learn because they want to will stand out.

What You Will Do

  • Own production reliability, monitoring and system health
  • Detect, diagnose and resolve incidents with urgency and precision
  • Improve availability, resilience and recovery of critical systems
  • Design and operate scalable cloud and Kubernetes platforms
  • Secure infrastructure, access and sensitive data
  • Automate workflows and reduce manual effort
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, researchers and business stakeholders
  • Help build and evolve infrastructure for AI‑enabled workloads
You will be taught a lot - and at the same time expected to drive your own development.

More Informations

  • Annual gross salary range: EUR 80,000 - 95,000 depending on experience and mindset
  • Full-on site, no home-office policy - we work in a highly complicated field
  • Small but amazing team, looking to outgrow
  • some interesting company benefits
  • in the middle of Vienna
  • international working with colleagues all over the world
