DaoPay operates mission critical payment and communication platforms across Europe. Our systems process millions of transactions every month and support customers in a regulated fintech environment where reliability, security and operational excellence matter every day.

We are looking for a Head of Platform & Infrastructure to take ownership of the next stage of our platform evolution: stronger automation, higher resilience, clearer observability, scalable operations and a security-first infrastructure culture. This is a hands-on leadership role for someone who wants real architectural influence, a visible seat in engineering leadership and the ability to build high-quality infrastructure with a strong, experienced team.

• Scope: Platform reliability, infrastructure roadmap, security, automation and operations

What You Will Do:

• Own the reliability, scalability, performance and security of DaoPay’s core infrastructure
• Define and drive the platform and infrastructure roadmap together with the CTO
• Lead, coach and develop a team of experienced infrastructure engineers while staying technically close to the systems
• Improve automation, observability, incident readiness, disaster recovery and operational standards
• Oversee and evolve Kubernetes, Proxmox, Kafka, PostgreSQL/MariaDB and networking infrastructure
• Strengthen security and compliance practices in a regulated fintech environment, including PCI-DSS, ISO 27001 and PSD2 expectations
• Participate in a pragmatic on-call rotation with low incident frequency and a strong focus on prevention

What We Are Looking For:

• Solid experience in infrastructure, platform engineering or systems engineering, ideally with team leadership or technical lead responsibility
• Strong Linux systems and networking background, including TCP/IP, BGP, TLS, HTTP and related operational topics
• Hands-on experience with automation and infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform, Ansible, Python or Bash
• A structured, calm and accountable approach to incidents, risk and operational decision-making
• Ability to translate technical depth into clear priorities, standards and roadmap decisions
• Experience in regulated, security-sensitive or high-availability environments is a strong advantage
• Fluent German and English

For this position, the applicable collective-agreement minimum salary under Austrian law will be stated in the published job advertisement according to the final classification. The actual compensation package is market-oriented and depends on qualification, relevant experience and the level of responsibility; willingness to pay above the collective-agreement minimum is expressly given.
