Cloud & Infrastructure Operations Expert

Overview:

The Cloud & Infrastructure Operations Expert is responsible for supporting the management and optimization of enterprise cloud environments, hybrid IT infrastructure, and data center operations to ensure service reliability, scalability, resilience, and cost efficiency. The role contributes to cloud operations, infrastructure monitoring, automation initiatives, and operational improvement activities that support Digital Business Services (DBS) objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support the deployment, administration, and operational management of cloud and hybrid infrastructure environments to maintain performance, scalability, and availability.
• Manage and maintain on-premises infrastructure components including servers, storage systems, backup platforms, and network environments to ensure operational continuity.
• Monitor infrastructure and cloud environments using observability and monitoring tools to identify, troubleshoot, and resolve operational issues proactively.
• Contribute to infrastructure automation and orchestration initiatives to improve provisioning, scaling, patching, and maintenance efficiency.
• Support disaster recovery planning, backup management, and high-availability solutions to enhance infrastructure resilience and business continuity.
• Analyze infrastructure utilization and cloud consumption trends, contributing to cost optimization and FinOps initiatives.
• Ensure cloud and infrastructure environments comply with cybersecurity standards, governance policies, and operational procedures.
• Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and service providers to support infrastructure operations, maintenance activities, and service delivery improvements.
• Participate in infrastructure upgrades, migrations, capacity planning, and operational enhancement projects.
• Prepare operational reports, technical documentation, and infrastructure performance assessments to support decision-making and continuous improvement.

Qualifications:

Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Cloud Computing, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
• Preferred certifications include: AWS Certified Solutions Architect Professional, Microsoft Azure Solutions Architect Expert, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Oracle Cloud Infrastructure Architect Professional, VMware Certified Professional (VCP), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), or ITIL Foundation or Practitioner

Experience:

• 8–12 years of experience in cloud operations, hybrid infrastructure environments, and enterprise infrastructure support.
• Strong hands-on experience with AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), and private cloud technologies.
• Experience managing enterprise infrastructure environments including virtualization, storage, backup, networking, and monitoring platforms.
• Familiarity with infrastructure automation, containerization, orchestration, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) tools is preferred.
• Experience within educational institutions, technology, digital, consulting, or transformation-driven environments is an advantage

Skills & Competencies:

• Knowledge of automation, scripting, and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) technologies such as Terraform, Ansible, or CloudFormation.
• Familiarity with containerization and orchestration technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.
• Understanding of disaster recovery, backup strategies, high-availability architectures, and business continuity practices.
• Knowledge of cloud governance, cybersecurity controls, compliance requirements, and operational risk management practices.
• Strong troubleshooting, incident management, and root-cause analysis capabilities across cloud and infrastructure environments.
• Ability to analyze infrastructure utilization, optimize operational efficiency, and support cloud cost management initiatives.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills with the ability to work effectively across technical and business teams.
