Join our NetLine Optimizers team and play a key role in shaping the future of our software platform.


As a Software Architect, you will support the NetLine Optimizer team to deliver their world-class optimizers to our customers, with a special focus in on the overarching platform engineering!


Your responsibilities


  • Responsibility for the software architecture, including fundamental software engineering non-functional and functional requirements and constraints (e.g. scalability, security, performance, operability, and maintainability of the software).
  • Analysis of business and technical requirements for software, platforms, and infrastructure.
  • Design, documentation (functional and commercial), and presentation of the architecture to decision-makers for the implementation of requirements.
  • Analysis and consulting regarding the interoperability of different products and modules.
  • Definition and assurance of the application of general guidelines related to technology, architecture, programming, design, development, and communication, including ensuring quality- and architecture-related processes.
  • Facilitation and participation in meetings with business stakeholders, providers, and developers.
  • Contribution to cross-functional and cross-departmental projects of higher complexity, including planning, specification, solution design, and transition into operational use.
  • Consulting on architectural topics such as sizing and the selection of frameworks, taking into account AEM-specific requirements.
  • Prototypical implementation of specialized or innovative design solutions.
  • Active participation in Scrum ceremonies.
  • Close collaboration with product owners, other software architects, development leads, product management, business analysts, product experts, quality management, and infrastructure architects across all areas.
  • Assumption of special tasks.


You are looking for us, if you have


  • Extensive professional experience as a Software Architect (m/f/diverse), particularly with modular designs.
  • In-depth knowledge in software design (e.g. UML, data modeling, and design patterns).
  • Strong Java expertise, specifically with Quarkus framework experience.
  • Proven track record designing and running Microservices Architectures (using JSON for data serialization).
  • Hands-on experience with Azure cloud platform, Kubernetes, and Helm charts.
  • Advanced understanding of system observability (monitoring, logging, and tracing).
  • Expert knowledge of tools such as Jira, Confluence, Git, Bitbucket, Kubernetes, and NetIQ Access Manager.
  • Advanced knowledge in Artificial Intelligence (AI) and its deployment to modern software architecture and development.
  • Ability to present complex topics in a target group-oriented manner to customers, management, and other stakeholders, including strong facilitation and presentation skills.
  • Very high level of commitment and initiative, strong resilience, and flexibility.
  • Excellent analytical and conceptual thinking skills, high level of abstraction, and ability to manage complexity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, communication abilities, assertiveness, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Willingness to travel and to work on-site at customer locations.
  • Very good English language skills.


You will be successful if you have


  • Practical experience working in international development team.
  • Experience in the Airline Business, in particular Network Planning and Scheduling Solutions.
  • Knowledge in Python (for scripting) and Go.
  • CI/CD: Experience with GitHub Actions / GitHub Pipelines.
  • Background in framework development and a strong grasp of product development lifecycle.

  • Primary technologies: Java (Quarkus), Azure, Kubernetes, Helm, REST APIs, Kafka
  • Additional technologies: Go, Python, GitHub, Terraform, Prometheus, Grafana, Databricks
