Indexed description

Quanloop is building and running a security‑sensitive investment platform. As Head of Infrastructure, you will own the technology foundations that keep production reliable and supportable—cloud platform, Kubernetes-based runtime, operational readiness, and observability.

This is an office‑first role based in Budapest, reporting to the CTO

This is a hands‑on leadership role. You are expected to stay close to the systems and decisions, while building and leading the Budapest Infrastructure function.

Role Snaps

  • Working model: Office‑first (on‑site).
  • Hiring basis: Local hiring for the Budapest office location.
  • Language: English‑first working language.
  • Reporting line: You report to the CTO.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

  • Own cloud platform architecture and operational readiness, with Kubernetes as a core runtime.
  • Set and maintain operational standards that keep production stable and supportable over time.
  • Drive reliability improvements with SRE and DevOps engineers, focusing on outcomes that stick rather than quick fixes.
  • Own observability direction (monitoring, alerting, operational visibility) and ensure teams can act on signals.
  • Define and maintain practical infrastructure patterns and documentation so engineering delivery scales cleanly.
  • Partner closely with Engineering leadership on delivery constraints, production readiness, and sustainable change.
  • Work alongside the CISO (peer role) to ensure infrastructure execution aligns with security direction and operational security needs.
  • Manage and develop the Infrastructure team in Budapest, including SREs, DevOps engineers, Systems Administrators, and on-site IT Support.
  • Coordinate with relevant stakeholders on third-party technical dependencies and operational requirements.

What Success Looks Like in the First 3–6 Months

  • You establish a clear operational baseline: cleaner ownership, fewer recurring issues, and more predictable production readiness.
  • Observability and operational routines become reliable enough that teams trust and use them consistently.
  • The Budapest Infrastructure team runs as a functioning unit with clear priorities and standards.
  • Engineering delivery and infrastructure operations work together with fewer surprises and clearer handovers.

What We’re Looking For

  • Proven, hands‑on experience owning production infrastructure in a cloud-first environment with Kubernetes.
  • Strong operational judgement: reliability, incident handling, and disciplined change in real systems.
  • Ability to lead while staying technical: you can make architecture decisions and still work close to implementation when needed.
  • Comfortable working in environments where security constraints and documentation matter.
  • Clear written and spoken communication in English.
  • Office-first mindset and ability to lead on site.
