We are hiring a Medior DevOps Engineer
Hybrid working model – Novi Sad or Belgrade office
Role description:
You will join a high-performing infrastructure and cloud engineering team working on a strategic migration project for a complex enterprise environment. The role combines strong system engineering foundations with modern DevOps practices, supporting both on‑premises infrastructure operations and cloud migration initiatives to AWS.
In this role, you will initially focus on maintaining and optimizing on‑premises infrastructure, while progressively contributing to cloud adoption and migration activities, following an automation-first approach.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and execute lift-and-shift migrations from on-premise environments (Proxmox) to AWS (EC2)
- Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Terraform and Ansible (including Ansible Tower)
- Design and implement database replication and synchronization mechanisms: SQL databases (using Percona tooling) and MongoDB (using MongoSync)
- Support and manage failover and failback procedures to ensure business continuity
- Ensure data integrity and minimal downtime during migration of production systems
- Migrate block storage and file-based data to AWS environments
- Configure and troubleshoot AWS networking (VPCs, routing, segmentation, connectivity, and security controls)
- Work with management tools such as Bitwarden and AWS Secrets Manager
- Own and optimize Linux-based environments, ensuring stable, secure, and high-performing systems
- Drive system reliability and performance through troubleshooting, tuning, and continuous improvement
- Manage custom package configurations and internal repositories
- Implement and maintain network controls, including firewall (foomuuri) and routing (Birdc) configurations
- Hands-on experience with AWS and core cloud infrastructure components
- Experienced Linux engineer with growing expertise in DevOps practices and tools
- Proven experience in infrastructure automation using Terraform and Ansible
- Strong Bash scripting skills
- Strong understanding of networking concepts (VPC design, VPN/Direct Connect, routing, security groups, NACLs, hybrid connectivity)
- Familiarity with high availability and disaster recovery strategies (failover/failback)
- Good communication skills and ability to work in a collaborative team environment
- Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and workflows
- Experience with data migration, including SQL and MongoDB replication
- Experience with large-scale cloud migration projects
- Certifications in AWS or DevOps-related areas
- Proactive mindset, willingness to learn, and adaptability in dynamic environments
