You will deliver change, incident and service request work across a portfolio of customer environments, working alongside senior engineers and service delivery managers to keep services running to agreed standards.
Based in Auckland, the role suits an intermediate engineer who is comfortable across cloud and infrastructure, takes ownership of their work, and looks for ways to make day-to-day delivery better. You will take part in the team's standard coverage and on-call arrangements.
What You'll Do
- Operate, configure and maintain customer workloads across Microsoft Azure and AWS
- Administer Windows and Linux server environments, including patching, backup verification and routine maintenance
- Deliver scheduled changes and maintenance across customer environments, including server patching and upgrades to agreed schedules and standards
- Fulfil service requests and operational tasks to agreed service levels across a portfolio of customers
- Provide engineering support for incidents, taking ownership of more complex events through to resolution
- Apply identity, access and security configuration in line with established standards
- Respond to monitoring and alerts, and help keep monitoring accurate and useful
- Identify and contribute improvements that make routine work more reliable and efficient
- Communicate clearly with customers and internal stakeholders, including during incidents
What We're Looking For
- Hands-on operational experience with Microsoft Azure or AWS, with working familiarity in the other
- Experience administering Windows and Linux servers, including patching and routine maintenance
- Sound networking, identity and security fundamentals in a cloud context
- Experience delivering changes and service requests in a structured, controlled way
- Experience supporting incidents, including more complex events
- Scripting capability in PowerShell or Bash
- Comfortable working in environments managed through infrastructure-as-code and shared automation
- A clear communicator, comfortable working with customers
- Eligible to work in New Zealand
Nice to Have
- A cloud certification such as Microsoft Azure Administrator Associate (AZ-104) or AWS SysOps Administrator Associate, or actively working towards one
- Experience optimising cloud workloads for cost and performance
- Virtualisation and storage administration experience
- Exposure to monitoring and observability tooling
- IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) foundation knowledge across incident, problem and change management
- Experience supporting multi-customer managed services environments
What We Offer
- Competitive salary aligned to experience and skills
- Permanent, full-time employment with a stable and well-established New Zealand company
- Opportunity to work with significant New Zealand organisations across government and enterprise
- Career development and professional certification support
