Job Title: Pre-Sales Engineer
Department: Sales
Reports To: Sales Leadership
Location: Farmington Hills, Michigan (Hybrid)
Travel: Moderate, as required for client engagements
Compensation: 150K - 200K per year
Position Summary
Softura is seeking a strategic, client-facing Pre-Sales Engineer to help shape and scale our growing AI and digital transformation practice. This role will support strategic sales opportunities through early-stage discovery, solution development, technical advisory, and business alignment while also helping establish the foundation for Softura’s evolving pre-sales organization.
As an early member of the pre-sales function, this individual will play a key role in helping define solution engagement processes, technical sales standards, reusable assets, and go-to-market best practices across AI, cloud, application modernization, data, and Microsoft technologies.
The ideal candidate combines strong business acumen, enterprise technology expertise, and consultative selling experience with the ability to operate strategically in a fast-growing environment. This individual will act as both a trusted client advisor and an internal leader helping scale Softura’s technical pre-sales capabilities and AI solution positioning.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Practice Development & Pre-Sales Leadership
- Help establish and mature Softura’s pre-sales engineering function, processes, and best practices
- Contribute to the development of repeatable solution frameworks, discovery methodologies, architecture standards, and reusable sales assets
- Partner with sales and leadership to improve qualification, scoping, and technical sales execution processes
- Assist in developing AI-focused solution offerings, accelerators, and go-to-market strategies
- Provide input into future pre-sales hiring needs, team structure, and operational scaling
- Collaborate across sales, delivery, marketing, and leadership teams to strengthen Softura’s AI market positioning
- Support internal enablement and knowledge-sharing initiatives across AI and emerging technologies
Client Discovery & Opportunity Support
- Partner with sales and account teams to advance qualified opportunities
- Lead or support client discovery sessions, workshops, and solution discussions
- Identify business challenges, technical requirements, and desired outcomes
- Translate client needs into clear, actionable solution approaches
Solution Development & Scoping
- Lead high-level solution design for strategic pursuits
- Define scope, assumptions, and phased delivery approaches
- Collaborate with delivery, engineering, and partner teams to align solutions
- Develop and manage ROM estimates and early-stage scoping
- Create scalable and reusable solution patterns that improve consistency across client engagements
- Help define standards for solution architecture documentation, scoping, and technical validation
Sales Enablement & Pursuit Support
- Contribute to proposals, RFP/RFI responses, and client presentations
- Align technical solutions with business value and ROI
- Develop solution overviews, architecture visuals, and supporting materials
- Support deal strategy and opportunity progression with sales teams
- Contribute to the development of technical sales playbooks, demo strategies, and reusable pursuit content
- Support strategic partner alignment with Microsoft, Azure, AI ecosystem, and cloud providers
Stakeholder Engagement & Thought Leadership
- Establish credibility with business and technical stakeholders
- Serve as a subject matter advisor in client engagements
- Contribute to consultative selling practices and solution positioning
- Stay current on relevant technologies and industry trends
- Act as a visible contributor to Softura’s AI and digital transformation thought leadership initiatives
- Provide market feedback and client insight to leadership regarding emerging AI trends, customer demand, and competitive positioning
QUALIFICATIONS
Required
- 8+ years of experience in solution architecture, pre-sales/sales engineering, consulting, or digital transformation
- Experience supporting complex technology sales cycles
- Strong client-facing discovery and consultative engagement skills
- Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions
- Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience and understanding of a Blended Delivery Model (Onshore| Offshore)
- Experience in the following:
- AI (Generative, Agentic, Orchestration)
- Application development and modernization
- Cloud platforms (Azure, AWS, GCP)
- Microsoft technologies
- Data and analytics
- Automation and integration solutions
- Experience creating ROM estimates, statements of work, or technical sales artifacts
- Industry experience (e.g., manufacturing, healthcare, financial services)
- Experience helping build or scale pre-sales, solution consulting, or technical advisory functions preferred
- Experience supporting AI-related solution design, use case development, or emerging AI platforms preferred
- Strong understanding of consultative solution selling methodologies and enterprise technology buying cycles
- Ability to operate effectively in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment with evolving priorities

Education
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field preferred
- Relevant technical or cloud certifications are a plus
