About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Observability Architect to lead the design and implementation of enterprise observability solutions across cloud and on-premise environments. You will define monitoring strategies, establish observability standards, and help engineering teams improve system reliability, performance, and operational visibility. This role requires close collaboration with DevOps, Platform Engineering, SRE, and Application teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable observability architectures for distributed applications and infrastructure.
- Develop enterprise monitoring, logging, tracing, and alerting strategies.
- Standardize observability practices across multiple technology platforms.
- Integrate observability tools into CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native environments.
- Build dashboards, service health metrics, and performance reporting solutions.
- Optimize application and infrastructure monitoring to reduce incident resolution time.
- Partner with engineering teams to improve system reliability and operational excellence.
- Establish monitoring standards, governance, and best practices.
- Support root cause analysis through distributed tracing and log correlation.
- Evaluate new observability technologies and recommend platform improvements.
- Create documentation, architecture diagrams, and operational guidelines.
- Mentor engineers on observability adoption and platform usage.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 8+ years of experience in Infrastructure, DevOps, SRE, or Platform Engineering.
- 3+ years of experience designing enterprise observability solutions.
- Strong understanding of distributed systems and cloud-native architectures.
- Experience with Kubernetes and containerized environments.
- Hands-on experience with monitoring, logging, and distributed tracing platforms.
- Experience designing dashboards, alerting strategies, and service-level monitoring.
- Strong scripting skills using Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
