Help build the AI infrastructure layer for a national government

We're staffing a rare Staff-level opening at a large-scale government AI initiative in Abu Dhabi — one of the most ambitious AI programmes running in the public sector globally.

This is not a typical enterprise IT role. You'll work at the foundation of an AI project — the platform layer that enables dozens of government departments to adopt AI at scale. Think LLM orchestration, agentic workflows, model serving infrastructure, multi-tenant data pipelines, and security architecture designed for sovereign, regulated environments.

Staff-level means you own architecture decisions end-to-end, raise the engineering bar across the team, and work directly with senior government stakeholders. You'll have the freedom to shape how an entire government's AI platform is built — and the responsibility that comes with it.

What you'll own

AI Platform Architecture

Design and operate the core infrastructure that serves LLM-powered workloads across multiple government entities — model routing, RAG pipelines, vector stores, and agentic frameworks at scale.

Security & Compliance

Build for sovereign, regulated environments — data residency, access controls, audit trails, and the engineering discipline that high-trust government applications require.

MLOps & Delivery

Own the end-to-end model lifecycle: CI/CD for ML, model versioning, experiment tracking, deployment pipelines, and observability across a multi-team environment.

Platform Leadership

Set architectural standards, mentor engineers, lead design reviews, and act as a technical authority across the platform team and stakeholder organisation.

Who we're looking for

You've built and operated production AI/ML platform infrastructure — not just contributed to it. You have real depth in at least three of: LLM orchestration, MLOps tooling, cloud-native AI infrastructure, multi-tenant platform design, and regulated/government-adjacent environments. You write clearly, make architectural trade-offs with evidence, and can work with both engineers and non-technical government stakeholders.

Strong interest in candidates currently based in the USA or Europe who are open to relocating to Abu Dhabi. Relocation support is available.
