Senior Startup Solutions Architect, Web3, AWS Startups

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a passionate and experienced Solutions Architect to join the ASEAN Startups Solutions Architecture team, focused on Web3 customers. In this role, you will work with some of the most innovative blockchain, DeFi, NFT, gaming, and decentralized application startups in the region, helping them architect and scale their platforms on AWS.

As a Senior Solutions Architect, you will serve as a trusted technical advisor to Web3 founders, CTOs, and engineering teams - guiding them through complex architectural decisions covering compute, storage, networking, security, and purpose-built databases. You will combine deep technical knowledge with strong business acumen to help startups move fast, reduce time-to-market, and build resilient, cost-effective infrastructure on AWS.

This is a customer-facing role that requires a blend of technical depth, startup empathy, and the ability to influence both internal and external stakeholders.

Key job responsibilities

• Customer Engagement: Work directly with Web3 startup founders and engineering teams across ASEAN to accelerate their cloud adoption and recommend best-practice architectures aligned with their business outcomes.
• Technical Leadership: Drive solution design discussions - diving deep into blockchain node infrastructure, smart contract tooling, wallet services, DeFi protocols, NFT marketplaces, and decentralized identity systems running on AWS.
• Architecture Design: Craft scalable, secure, and cost-optimized architectures covering areas such as high-throughput transaction processing, data indexing (e.g., subgraphs/indexers), key management (AWS KMS/CloudHSM), hybrid networking, and multi-region resilience.
• Thought Leadership: Act as an internal and external thought leader for Web3 on AWS - publish blog posts, reference architectures, and white papers; present at AWS Summits, meetups, and industry events.
• Ecosystem Building: Build and nurture relationships with Web3 ecosystem partners (L1/L2 chains, infrastructure providers, accelerators, VCs) to drive co-innovation and customer growth.
• Team Contribution: Mentor junior Solutions Architects, contribute to team mechanisms, and help scale the Startups SA practice across ASEAN.
• Voice of the Customer: Influence AWS service roadmaps by capturing and sharing customer feedback, pain points, and feature requests from the Web3 community.

A day in the life

You might start the day reviewing a blockchain startup's architecture for a high-performance validator node setup, then hop on a call with a DeFi protocol team to discuss secure key management patterns using AWS KMS. In the afternoon, you could be whiteboarding a multi-chain indexing pipeline with an NFT marketplace, followed by prepping a Web3-focused workshop for an upcoming AWS event. Throughout the day, you collaborate closely with Account Managers, Partner SAs, and AWS service teams to unblock customers and drive adoption.

Basic Qualifications

• 8+ years of specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics) experience
• 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting in applications and infrastructures experience
• 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting in the software or Internet industries experience

Preferred Qualifications

• 5+ years of infrastructure architecture, database architecture and networking experience
• Knowledge of SAP systems (like SAP Business Suite, S/4HANA, SAP Business Warehouse, SAP HANA, SAP Business Objects, etc.) and their architecture and infrastructure needs
• Experience working with end user or developer communities
• Experience managing relationships with SAP customers and partners
• Experience in SAP S/4HANA, SAP Cloud Platform, SAP Cloud ERP and Cloud ERP Private
• Experience in SAP clean core design concepts, including design and build using non-SAP technologies in domains such as Generative / Agentic AI, and data & analytics
