Senior Data Engineer
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer to help scale and modernize the data foundations that power a growing organization. This individual will design, build, and optimize data pipelines, platforms, and infrastructure that enable data-driven decision-making across the business.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in building scalable data solutions and partnering cross-functionally with Engineering, Product, Analytics, and business teams to understand evolving needs and deliver reliable, maintainable, high-quality solutions.
Data is central to the organization’s operations, supporting business intelligence, operational efficiency, and strategic initiatives. This role will focus on moving, transforming, and modeling data while developing a deep understanding of business domains to help teams leverage insights effectively.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and automate large-scale, high-performance data pipelines and platform infrastructure.
- Build reusable frameworks and components for data ingestion, transformation, validation, and quality management.
- Develop solutions to efficiently ingest raw data from multiple sources into enterprise Data Lake and Data Warehouse environments.
- Design and optimize data models to support efficient storage, retrieval, analytics, and business applications.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Product, Operations, and Analytics teams to deliver scalable data solutions.
- Improve data reliability, performance, governance, and accessibility across the organization.
Qualifications
- 6–10 years of professional experience in data engineering, software engineering, or a related data-focused role.
- Strong proficiency in Python and SQL.
- Experience with data orchestration frameworks such as Airflow, Prefect, Dagster, or similar tools.
- Strong understanding of OLAP technologies (Snowflake, Databricks, etc.) and OLTP databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB, etc.).
- Experience building ELT/ETL frameworks using tools such as dbt or similar technologies.
- Hands-on experience developing and deploying solutions in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP).
- Strong understanding of object-oriented and functional programming concepts with the ability to write scalable, maintainable code.
- Experience with distributed data processing and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Flink, or Spark.
- Knowledge of Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and collaborate effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Passion for learning new technologies and improving data systems.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with JVM-based languages such as Java, Scala, or Kotlin.
- Experience working with cloud-native data architectures and modern data platforms.
- Familiarity with financial services, markets, or complex business domains is a plus.
