Position Overview:

Are you a talented Workforce Services / Craft Professional Engagement professional? Bechtel is seeking an enthusiastic representative, with excellent engagement skills, who knows how to craft compelling content, build a positive and engaging site culture, and position Bechtel as the employer of choice for Craft Professionals. If you are a curious, detail-oriented self-starter with an understanding of how to write and manage content, you may be a great fit for this opportunity!

Job Summary:

In this position, you will learn and grow within the company. You will make meaningful connections, ask questions, research materials, and interview experts to create content that is accurate and interesting to internal and external target audiences.

This position will be based at Bechtel's CityWest Houston office and report to Bechtel's Workforce Services Supervisor - Engagement and Retention. This position may be eligible for part-time telework.
"This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and will require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership" #LI-TH1

Major Responsibilities:

Craft Professional Engagement

  • Create content (written, photographic, videos) to support engagement and wellbeing - contributing to a positive site culture.
  • Work in partnership with site and corporate Workforce Services and Communications representatives.
  • Support and promote the implementation/consolidation of reward and recognition programs and incentive programs and ensure proactive engagement strategies are in place.
  • Provide support for site Workforce Services and Communications representatives as required - including travel to Project sites for varying periods of time.

Craft Professional Attraction

  • Work with advertising partners to position Bechtel as the employer of choice in the market.
  • Work across different business units and functions to draft content for internal and external use.
  • Develop content for use on social media to support Craft Professional recruitment.
  • Participate in and promote regional job fairs and engage with potential Craft Professional employees around the benefits of a career in construction.
  • Work with corporate representatives to manage and update Bechtel websites relating to recruitment (i.e. BechtelBuilds.com and BrassRing portal).
  • Travel to events and expos to promote Bechtel and engage with external partners, and with potential craft professional employees.

Corporate Engagement

  • Develop presentations to report on progress, challenges, and market changes in partnership with data analysts and workforce development representatives.
  • Support the implementation of the Craft Professional Attract, Train, and Retain strategy.

Education and Experience Requirements:

  • Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 2-5 years of relevant experience or 6-9 years of relevant work experience
  • 1+ years' experience in Industrial Relations / Labor Relations / Workforce Services, marketing, or communications.
  • Construction experience preferred.
  • Fluent in English.
  • Spanish speaking a plus.
  • Must have the right to work in the US.

Required Knowledge and Skills:

  • Writing, editing, proofreading.
  • Accurate, detail-oriented, quick learner, self-starter.
  • Sound judgment, discretion, and ability to collaborate and maintain effective working relationships with diverse, global team members.
