About the Role

The Japan Brand Marketing team plays a critical role when it comes to establishing deep connections with consumers representing the frontline of our business. They work closely with business stakeholders (Comms, Policy, Ops, S&P, R&I, Data Science, and Legal and CommOps) as well as external stakeholders (agency partners) to bring our products and brand to life in the market. They're empowered and responsible to assist and deliver brand campaigns from strategy and brief through to execution and measurement ensuring everything is delivered as expected, on time and on budget.

Our Marketing Manager will be involved in the development and execution of the annual marketing plans, leading end-to-end projects for Japan Marketing.

Your Impact in Role

  • Own Brand Campaign Development and Execution: develop and execute impactful marketing campaigns for Uber Eats, and make Uber Eats relevant to consumers in the Japanese market.
  • Cross-Functional Growth Collaboration: collaborate with diverse teams to boost demand for Uber's services in Japan, and foster synergies across functions to achieve business growth goals.
  • Brand Reporting & Measurement: act as the primary point of contact for all reporting and performance measurement queries related to your designated projects, and ensure data-driven decisions for continuous improvement.
  • Effective Agency Management: manage and leverage agency partnerships for marketing success, and optimize agency resources to achieve marketing objectives.
  • Support Overall Business Growth: contribute to the broader business growth strategy beyond marketing, and align marketing efforts with the company's overall expansion goals.

What You Will Need
  • Native level Japanese fluency & business level English
  • Extensive experience in brand strategy & creative, project management experience
  • Experience working with creative agencies and managing campaign deliverables.
  • Comfortable with financial and operational processes within marketing organizations.
  • Project Management skills to managing multiple work streams under pressure deadlines, manage budgets and own decisions
  • Belief in the power of Brand to drive business
  • Eagerness to learn & grow
  • Strong business acumen; you'll be a structured thinker with project management skills and attention to detail. You'll be able to work to tight deadlines at a fast pace and be capable of juggling several projects simultaneously. You'll also have the ability to take the initiative in a constantly-changing work environment with a willingness to adopt a generalist mindset.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, taking the initiative to pre-empt problems or opportunities while still being a team player that believes by working together, we'll achieve greater success.
  • A clear, confident and concise communicator with good relationship management, including strong written communication skills and the ability to bring to life the Uber brand in a way that is both consistent with our global brand positioning but also meaningful to local culture and customs.
  • A strong customer-centric mindset - you are always thinking about how our customers interact with the brand.
  • Strong antenna for culture and trends
  • Command of AI tools
