We are looking for a talented Senior Accountant to join our team specializing in Finance for Cummins Milano, Lombardia, Italy.
12-month contract with the potential to become a permanent position, depending on performance.
In this role, you will make an impact in the following ways:
- Support the monthly financial close process by preparing accurate journal entries, reconciliations, and financial reports in accordance with accounting standards.
- Maintain compliance with local statutory reporting requirements by collaborating with external accounting advisors and ensuring timely regulatory filings.
- Coordinate external audit activities by preparing audit documentation, responding to auditor inquiries, and facilitating a smooth audit process.
- Partner with business leaders and operational teams to provide financial insights, support decision-making, and resolve accounting-related matters.
- Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and trend analysis, investigating and reporting significant variances and financial fluctuations.
- Maintain the general ledger by accurately recording, analyzing, and reporting complex accounting transactions while ensuring data integrity.
- Prepare financial statements, including balance sheets, profit and loss statements, consolidated financial reports, and other management reporting schedules.
- Evaluate and strengthen internal controls, recommend process improvements, and implement accounting best practices to enhance compliance, efficiency, and financial accuracy.
Education/ Experience:
- College, university, or equivalent degree in Accounting, Finance or related field required. Certified Public Accountant, Certified Management Accountant, Chartered Accountant or similar certification is preferred.
- Intermediate level of relevant professional work experience in the field of study required.
To be successful in this role you will need the following:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, with strong knowledge of local GAAP and statutory accounting requirements.
- Proven experience in a senior accounting role within a dynamic, fast-paced, and multicultural business environment.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with exceptional attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Proficiency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to lead and develop others by providing direction, fostering accountability, and supporting team and organizational goals.
- Committed to continuous improvement, valuing diverse perspectives while maintaining accuracy and integrity in environments involving significant manual financial processes.
