This position is with an Engineering and Design firm located in Colorado focused on helping our clients develop high-quality, efficient upstream and midstream oil and gas facilities. Our team consists of seasoned professionals with strong technical capabilities and extensive operational experience. We are seeking an accomplished project engineer with a strong mechanical and process background to join our team.

Role Description
· Project Engineer with the responsibility for efficiently and accurately producing assigned project deliverables in order to assist the PM with completing required engineering packages.
· Lead and mentor junior engineering personnel, sharing areas of expertise and lessons learned from previous project experience.
· Oversee/execute the development of project deliverables including, but not limited to, detailed engineering designs, calculations, project lists (BOM’s, Equipment, Control Valves, etc.) and specifications.
· Develop PFD’s and P&ID’s from client design basis input.
· Develop site plot plans and equipment layout drawings per regulatory, electrical area classification, and client-specific requirements, along with industry best practices, and considerations for accessibility and constructability
· Perform oil and gas process and mechanical engineering design, calculations, sizing and analyses
· Prepare and/or provide input with the development of proposals
· Manage project schedules, budgets, and resources
· Document and track change order and out of scope items
· Provide design support and coordinate the flow of accurate project information in a complete and timely fashion to other engineering disciplines
· Build strong relationships with clients
· Identify and mitigate project risks
· Drive continuous improvement and explore innovative solutions
· Provide recommendations for equipment and auxiliary components
· Participate in safety reviews (HAZOP/PHAs/MOC’s and PSM activities)
· Coordinate and prepare as-built drawings
· Perform fieldwork including documentation, research, and construction support
· Provide design support to other engineering disciplines
· Travel to client sites as needed. Reports Functionally to the Engineering Manager
· Represent Mesa’s team as lead to provide field walkdowns/support and seconded engineering requests in client locations
· Work to further develop the engineering team and client base through combined network of industry contacts and relationships
· Participate in the development of systems and standards for effective product delivery
· Document lessons learned from each project
· Work to further establish and propagate the Mesa Applied Technologies brand and reputation through excellent product delivery
· Participate and provide input to call on existing and new potential clients throughout Mesa’s areas of coverage, leveraging individual and collective network of industry contacts and clientele
· Complete all work in accordance with Mesa project execution protocols.
· Provide mentorship to new personnel in support of Mesa’s development goals
Qualifications
· Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Chemical, or Petroleum Engineering.
· 5+ years of proven experience in process/mechanical engineering.
· 5+ years of work experience in upstream and midstream oil and gas projects.
· Previous consulting engineering experience is required; previous operating company experience is highly desirable.
· Proficiency with process simulation software (HYSYS, ProMax, VMG Symmetry); current company standard is ProMax.
· Demonstrated ability to produce engineering calculations, P&IDs, design layouts, and equipment specifications.
· Strong familiarity with ASME and API industry standards and best practices.
· Proven experience walking down facilities to prepare accurate P&IDs.
· Demonstrated success in developing and maintaining positive relationships with team members and clients.
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
· Ability to work productively in a remote team environment.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) and Bluebeam.
· Ability to travel to client sites as needed (typically 10-20% annually).
· Must provide a reliable high-speed internet connection and a remote working location. No relocation is required.
Compensation & Benefits
· $110,000 to $156,000 Annually: Compensation will be commensurate with proven experience and capabilities.
