IBM DB2 Z/os Application DBA

Requirements

We’re looking for an IBM Db2 for z/OS Application DBA with 5+ years of hands-on experience supporting IMS and/or Db2 for z/OS (administration, performance, and security).You’ll be responsible for day-to-day application-level database administration and for meeting service-level targets with strong attention to integrity, recoverability, and proactive monitoring. You should be comfortable managing storage and growth, running Db2 utilities, and performing refresh/cloning for non-production environments.We’ll expect you to be able to partner effectively across teams—supporting developers with SQL and IMS-related topics, collaborating with infrastructure on cross-functional work, and documenting standards clearly for repeatable operations. You should also be able to evaluate newer IMS/Db2 features as part of readiness planning and participate in the on-call rotation.Language requirement: fluent in both English and Portuguese.

In this role, we’ll support client delivery by providing application-level database administration for Db2 for z/OS and IMS databases, ensuring reliable availability, strong performance, and recoverability while partnering with infrastructure and application teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide application-level database administration and support for Db2 for z/OS and IMS databases
• Execute and manage Db2 utilities
• Ensure databases are available as per service level agreements, meet database integrity and recoverability
• Ensure database performance meets client demands through proactive and reactive monitoring
• Manage database storage allocation, space management, and growth monitoring
• Execute database refresh and cloning activities for non-production environments
• Participate in database design involvement and provide recommendations regarding logical to physical model implementations
• Support developers with database topics (SQL queries, IMS DLI calls, tools usage, etc.)
• Participate in an on-call rotation for Db2 for z/OS database support
• Evaluate functionality and features with newer versions of the IMS and Db2 DBMS as part of a readiness program
• Collaborate with infrastructure teams on cross-functional tasks when needed
• Document database configurations, procedures, and best practices
