Job Description

Contract ROLE

We are looking for a resource to support our accounting team. This individual will be on contract for 1 year - BCom or CA inter with few years of work experience or AP specialist who can do some reporting and analysis also.

Location - Mumbai, reporting in office - 4 days a week and 1 day work from home.

The Individual Will Mainly Be Responsible For

  • Check and input invoices for goods and services and send off for approval
  • Verify approval on all invoices
  • Ensure correct coding of invoices
  • Chase invoices that are pending approvals
  • Investigate anomalies identified through the payment process
  • Reconcile supplier statements and direct debits payments.
  • Deal with supplier queries
  • Update and maintain vendor database
  • Run Aged Creditor Report on a monthly basis to review older balances
  • Process employee and candidate expense claims
  • Assist with year-end audit.

Other duties

  • Other general and ad hoc assignments and assisting the accounts team where necessary Hours 40 hours per week. The position may necessitate working some overtime in line with the business needs of the department. (Overtime is unpaid but effort is considered in the annual review/discretionary bonus process)

Ideal Experience

  • Previous experience in an Accounts Payable or similar role is essential
  • Workday Finance experience is desirable

Skills

  • Highly motivated
  • Enthusiastic with a can-do attitude
  • Solid understanding of basic bookkeeping and accounts payable principles
  • Well-developed organizational skills with high degree of accuracy and attention for detail
  • Good communication and numerate skills essential
  • Ability to handle confidential information in a discreet, professional manner
  • Must be able to use all MS Office, in particular Excel
  • Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • A self-starter with a strong desire to learn and keenness to be involved in the role and the department.
