The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
This analyst position will play an important role in protecting Solventum’s operations globally. This is a hands-on execution role responsible for building, maintaining, and continuously improving Solventum's crisis management and business continuity capability. Working closely with the Global Security team and other stakeholders, you will conduct business impact analyses across the enterprise, develop and maintain business continuity plans for critical business functions, design and facilitate crisis management exercises, and support the organization's response during actual disruptions.
The analyst is expected to work directly with business units and functions across the organization, facilitating workshops, writing plans, validating recovery capabilities, and driving corrective actions to closure. The role exists to ensure the organization can continue its essential operations during disruptive events such as natural disasters, geopolitical events, cyberattacks, technology outages, third-party failures, and public health emergencies. This role will work closely with Disaster Recovery to build a holistic, complimentary capability for Solventum.
The Impact You’ll Make in this Role
Business Impact Analysis
Plan and conduct business-impact analyses across all business units on an annual cycle, ensuring full enterprise coverage
Facilitate BIA workshops and structured interviews with process owners to identify critical business processes and their dependencies, including people, technology, facilities, data, and third parties
Establish and document recovery time objectives (RTOs) and recovery point objectives (RPOs) for critical processes and supporting applications; validate alignment between business requirements and IT recovery capabilities
Analyze BIA results to identify gaps, single points of failure, and unmitigated dependencies; present prioritized findings and recommendations to business and program leadership
Maintain BIA data as a current, authoritative record, refreshing it as the organization, its processes, and its technology change
Business Continuity Planning
Develop, write, and maintain business continuity plans for business units and departments across the organization, ensuring every critical business function has a current, actionable, and exercised plan
Translate BIA findings into documented recovery strategies and procedures, including manual workarounds, alternate work locations, work transfer, cross-training, and third-party contingencies
Drive the annual plan review and update cycle: track plan currency and ownership, coordinate updates with plan owners, and escalate overdue or deficient plans
Produce program metrics and dashboards, including BIA completion, plan currency, exercise completion, and corrective action status
Develop and deliver training for plan owners, recovery teams, and new employees on continuity roles and responsibilities
Build and sustain strong working relationships with functional leaders and process owners across the organization; using clear communication to drive engagement and accountability for continuity readiness
Build and manage an annual exercise calendar that validates plans, recovery strategies, and team readiness across the organization
Risk Assessment
Conduct continuity-focused risk assessments to identify threats to critical operations, facilities, technology, and supply chains
Coordinate with enterprise risk management, information security, and IT disaster recovery teams to ensure continuity risks are captured, rated, and addressed consistently
Crisis Management Support
Support the crisis management team during activations and real-world events, including scribing, situation reporting, drafting emergency communications, and managing response documentation
Maintain crisis management playbooks, contact rosters, call trees, and the emergency notification system, ensuring accuracy through regular validation
Participate in post-incident reviews and ensure lessons learned are incorporated into plans and procedures.
Your Skills and Expertise
To set you up for success in this role from day one, Solventum requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree or higher AND (7) seven years of experience in business continuity, disaster recovery, crisis management, risk management, or a related field in a private, public, government or military environment
In addition to the above requirements, the following are also required:
Professional certification in business continuity and/or emergency management, such as CBCI, CBCP, MBCI (previous or current)Experience with ISO 22301Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:
- Familiarity with other relevant standards, regulations, and frameworks, including ISO 22317 / ISO 22361 / NIST SP 800-34 / NFPA 1600
- Experience in conducting business impact analyses and developing business continuity plans
- Working knowledge of risk assessment techniques, BIA methodology, and recovery strategy development
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; able to turn data and interviews into clear findings and recommendations
- Excellent planning, organizational, and project management skills, including the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams to target dates
- Ability to work successfully in a matrixed environment
- High level of individual motivation and autonomy; able to drive work to completion with limited direction
- Proficiency with business continuity software platforms (ServiceNow BCM) and emergency notification systems (e.g., Horizon, Everbridge)
- Knowledge of IT infrastructure, application recovery, and data protection principles sufficient to partner effectively with IT disaster recovery teams.

Applicable to US Applicants Only:The expected compensation range for this position is $107,600 - $147,950, which includes base pay plus variable incentive pay, if eligible. This range represents a good faith estimate for this position.
