Overview of role:
The Supply Planner at Alvotech is responsible for developing and executing supply plans (3–24 months) to ensure reliable product availability while optimizing inventory, capacity, and overall supply chain performance.
This role translates demand forecasts into actionable production plans within a complex biologics environment, balancing service levels, efficiency, and cost. Acting as a central point of coordination, the Supply Planner collaborates cross-functionally to maintain a responsive and resilient end-to-end supply network.
Key Responsibilities:
Supply Planning & Execution
- Develop and maintain mid- to long-term supply plans (3–24 months) aligned with demand forecasts
- Translate demand plans into feasible production and supply strategies
- Optimize inventory levels across the supply network (API, drug product, and finished goods)
- Identify and resolve supply-demand imbalances and capacity constraints
Production & Capacity Coordination
- Coordinate with manufacturing sites to align production schedules with supply plans
- Maximize capacity utilization to meet demand requirements
- Support scenario planning and perform “what-if” analyses in constrained environments
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Demand Planning to align on forecast assumptions and changes
- Collaborate with Procurement to ensure availability of critical materials
- Work closely with Quality and Regulatory teams to integrate compliance requirements into plans
- Engage with external partners such as CMOs/CDMOs as required
S&OP / IBP Process Support
- Contribute to Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) / Integrated Business Planning (IBP) processes
- Prepare supply planning inputs, risk assessments, and scenarios for decision-making
- Proactively identify supply risks and opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies
Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement
- Monitor KPIs such as service level, inventory turns, backorders, and plan adherence
- Analyze root causes of supply disruptions and implement corrective actions
- Support implementation and enhancement of planning systems (e.g., SAP IBP, SAP S/4HANA)
- Drive process standardization and improve data accuracy
Qualifications:
- B.Sc. or M.Sc. in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field
- Languages: Proficient in English
- 3+ years of experience in Supply Chain Management (Supply planning, Production planning, or Supply Chain operations)
- Strong analytical skills and data literacy
- Strong leadership, project management and communication skills
- Strong drive for results and strong team player
- Solid understanding of supply KPIs and financial aspects
- Ability to bridge between scientific-, technical- and business-oriented stakeholders for effective international collaboration
Systems & Software: - Advanced Excel skills; experience with data analytics tools is a plus
- Strong knowledge of ERP and planning systems e.g. SAP S4 and SAP IBP preferred
- Experience in pharmaceuticals, biotech, or regulated manufacturing environments preferred
