Job Summary

A s a Designer Team Manager , you d evelop and lead technical teams to drive innovation and operational excellence. You manage competencies, foster collaboration, and ensure the efficient execution of technical strategies. You oversee resources, processes, and methodologies to enhance delivery and promote continuous improvement. You serve as the technical single point of contact for design or program teams throughout the product lifecycle. You stay ahead of emerging technologies, facilitate knowledge sharing, and align technical initiatives with business needs while supporting long-term growth.

Your mission is to guide and optimize technical operations, ensuring the successful implementation of technical strategies while fostering a culture of innovation and expertise. Your impact is felt through improved team performance, enhanced technical capabilities, and the successful delivery of high-quality technical solutions that meet organizational objectives. You focus on managing and implementing operational objectives within your area of responsibility, dedicating most of your time to planning, prioritizing, and directing the work of others. You guide the daily operations and activities of employees within your department, conducting performance reviews for direct reports. You make independent day-to-day tactical decisions to accomplish defined results while adhering to approved budgets, policies, and procedures. You exercise independent judgment within defined policies and procedures to solve issues, address non-routine problems, and proactively troubleshoot escalated matters.

This position will report directly to the Engineering ELM Transversal leader . Manager will be in charge of +12 designers.

What will you do?

  • Support LoB (MCB, MCCB, ACB, SPDs and LoMa offers) and Global Supply Change Manufacturing Plants in North America ( p roduction line support ) .
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring on-time and quality delivery .
  • Allocate resources effectively and balance workloads across the team .
  • Supervised the creation , modifi cations & validat ion bills of materials and CAD drawings of parts and sub-assemblies in accordance with technical specifications, customer expectations and supply chain constraints.
  • Supervise / e xecutes assigned product designs changes - drawings and BOMs (bill of materials) according to technical specifications using dedicated tools (software, database, 2D and 3D CAD system).
  • Support new product development projects, product evolution projects, QVEs, continuous engineering and TEX.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide constructive feedback .
  • Coordinates project scheduling and planning for the designers' team.
  • Supervise and d esign offers technical specifications to meet customer values expectations and quality goals with respect to supply chains constraints.
  • Establish design processes, workflows, and best practices within the Team scope.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering , scrum masters , product owners, OQLs, Methods engineers and Industrialization ).
  • Participate in the c reation and of Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (xFMEA) documents to reflect product design changes.
  • P rovide mentoring , instructions/assistance to other Designers and entry level engineers o r functions.

What skills and capabilities will make you successful?
  • BS or equivalent expertise in electromechanical design in electrical distribution products.
  • Must have + 10 years of relevant experience in electromechanical design .
  • AGILE Methodology knowledge and experience is a plus.
  • Expert in Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Advance experience in 3D CAD Modeling (Creo) .
  • Intermediate experience in Product Testing and Evaluation Methods (UL/ CSA/NOM/ IEC/ CCC/ ANSI).
  • Product design experience is highly recommended ( LVE, MCCB and ACB ).
  • Knowledge of CAE (Ex, Structural, Thermal, Kinematics, etc) is a plus.
  • Knowledge of first principles of Physics and Engineering Practice.
  • Advance knowl edge with metal stamping, thermoset and thermoplastic molding processes.
  • Advance knowledge with Design for Manufacturability and Design for Assembly techniques.
  • Travel required ~ 15 % - Travel to NAM GSC Manufacturing Plants (USA and Mexico) .
  • Knowledge of prototyping and testing methods

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Coaching and mentoring . Basic p roject execution experience.
  • Time and priority management

For this U.S. based position, the expected pay range is USD 117,600 - USD 176,400 per year. This pay range includes base pay and short-term incentives. The compensation range for this full-time position applies to candidates located within the United States. Our pay ranges are determined by reviewing roles of similar responsibility and level. Within the pay range, individual pay is determined by several factors including performance, knowledge, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
