Job Description Summary
The Major Corrective Blade Technical Leader is a senior technical and operational leadership role responsible for driving safe, standardized, and efficient blade repair execution across day-to-day field repairs and major corrective campaigns. This role provides repair engineering leadership to customers, field teams, and internal stakeholders to ensure blade repairs are executed in accordance with GE Vernova engineering requirements, blade standards, quality expectations, and customer commitments.The role has end-to-end responsibility for technical field support related to blade repairs, including repair strategy, execution readiness, field issue resolution, technical risk mitigation, and continuous improvement. The leader is expected to elevate field safety, improve execution efficiency, strengthen repair quality, and help build a world-class blade repair capability.
This role also serves as a key integrator between field operations, engineering, quality, EHS, and product teams by translating field experience into actionable learnings, supporting root cause analysis and corrective action development, and enabling successful introduction of new repair methods, tools, and technologies.
Job Description
Technical Leadership
- Serve as the senior technical leader for blade repair execution across routine field repairs and major corrective campaigns.
- Provide repair engineering direction to field teams and customers on damage assessment, repair strategy, approved methods, tooling, materials, and execution requirements.
- Ensure repair execution aligns with GE Vernova blade standards, engineering intent, quality requirements, and applicable compliance expectations.
- Provide rapid, high-quality technical decision-making and escalation support for complex or high-risk repair issues in the field.
- Establish technical rigor and consistency in repair execution through standard methodologies, best practices, and field guidance.
Field Execution and Operational Leadership
- Lead technical support for field repair execution to deliver safe, efficient, and on-time outcomes.
- Drive execution readiness by ensuring field teams have the appropriate technical direction, work instructions, tooling, materials, and operational support required for successful repair completion.
- Partner with operations and field service leaders to identify and remove execution barriers, improve work planning, and increase field productivity.
- Influence operational priorities and repair strategies to optimize schedule adherence, first-time quality, and customer outcomes.
- Support critical repair events and major corrective campaigns with visible leadership and strong cross-functional coordination.
Safety and Quality Leadership
- Champion a strong safety culture across blade repair activities by ensuring repair methods, execution practices, and field decisions prioritize safe outcomes.
- Reinforce compliance with EHS requirements, technical controls, and approved repair processes.
- Drive quality discipline in the field by ensuring repairs are executed to defined standards, documented appropriately, and validated for compliance.
- Identify and mitigate technical and operational risks that could impact safety, repair integrity, schedule, or customer satisfaction.
Continuous Improvement and Capability Building
- Drive continuous improvement across blade repair execution by capturing field learnings, identifying systemic issues, and converting experience into process, tooling, and standard work improvements.
- Help build and sustain a world-class blade repair team by raising technical capability, execution discipline, standardization, and operational maturity.
- Provide leadership in lessons learned reviews, repair effectiveness assessments, and post-execution evaluations.
- Support development of training content, field guidance, and technical documentation to improve team capability and consistency.
RCA, Product Feedback, and Technology Introduction
- Provide field-based technical insight and leadership support for root cause analyses (RCAs), corrective action planning, and issue resolution related to blade repairs.
- Ensure field observations, repair trends, and execution challenges are effectively communicated to engineering, quality, and product teams.
- Support the introduction of new blade repair products, tooling, methods, and technologies by providing field validation, implementation guidance, and execution feedback.
- Act as a key voice of field experience to influence future repair strategies, product improvements, and service readiness.
Stakeholder and Customer Leadership
- Serve as a trusted senior technical partner to customers, field teams, and internal stakeholders on blade repair execution matters.
- Build strong working relationships across engineering, field service, operations, quality, EHS, and product management to ensure aligned decision-making and effective execution.
- Communicate technical risk, repair strategy, execution status, and improvement opportunities clearly to both technical and operational audiences.
- Represent the blade repair function in cross-functional reviews, escalations, and strategic improvement initiatives.
Scope and Impact
- Provides senior-level technical leadership for blade repair execution across a broad field and customer landscape.
- Influences repair strategy, execution quality, safety performance, and operational efficiency for both routine and major corrective blade repairs.
- Plays a key role in shaping field repair standards, continuous improvement priorities, and repair capability development.

- Supports organizational learning by connecting field experience to RCA outcomes, corrective actions, and future repair technology adoption.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or related technical discipline; or equivalent knowledge and experience.
- Significant experience in wind turbine blade repair, blade engineering, composites, field service engineering, or related technical field support roles.
- Demonstrated experience leading technical decision-making and field execution support in a complex operational environment.
- Deep knowledge of blade repair methods, composite materials, damage assessment, and field repair practices.
- Proven ability to lead through influence across cross-functional teams, including field operations, engineering, quality, and customers.
- Strong problem-solving capability with experience managing technically complex and time-sensitive repair challenges.
- Demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, compliance, and operational excellence.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate with customers, field personnel, and senior internal stakeholders.
- Ability and willingness to travel as required to support field operations and repair execution.
Preferred Qualifications
- Advanced experience supporting major corrective blade campaigns or fleet-level repair initiatives.
- Familiarity with GE Vernova blade standards, service processes, and quality requirements.
- Experience supporting root cause analysis, corrective action development, and lessons learned implementation.
- Experience with new product introduction, field validation, or deployment of new repair technologies and methods.
- Demonstrated success improving field safety, repair efficiency, technical standardization, and team capability.
- Experience working directly with customers, contractors, and globally distributed field teams.
- Certification or advanced training in composites repair, blade inspection, quality systems, or RCA methodologies.
