About the role
As DevOps Lead you will own the solutions to the dynamic challenges of software development, deployment and operation in a modern cyber security company. You will have strong critical thinking skills, and the ability to explore imaginative solutions with other teams using excellent communication skills. You will be the glue that not only solves problems, but makes systems tangibly better, being the force multiplier for teams from Product Development, Sales, Cloud Operations (SRE) through to Customer Support. You will have the instinct to automate what matters and avoid toil, using solid coding skills. You will have a solid understanding of the cyber-security domain and a keen regard for business constraints and opportunities. You are a high agency individual, capable of fully owning problem discovery and implementing a solution, without excess oversight. You will support other teams to deploy both in the cloud and on-prem, including novel heterogenous environments. You will have the opportunity to write Python or Golang code as part of the role.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within our Engineering team and with partners in Sales, Customer Support, Customer Success
- Design and implement software configuration management, manage builds and deployments with a focus on process automation and cost / performance optimization
- Design and implement infrastructure-as-code and pipelines to automate the onboarding and offboarding of the cloud infrastructure
- Provide support to Operations / Support for our service running on cloud infrastructure and on-prem
- Help with system-intensive operations like performance testing, systems optimization, and so on
- Automate server-based installs via Ansible
- Optimize AI configuration, hardware/model selection, Ollama / VLLM configuration
- Optimize the product development experience to improve the overall SDLC
Minimum qualifications
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- At least 8 years of professional experience, 2 years in a similar role
- University degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent professional accreditation
- Hands-on, pro-active mindset, ability to work autonomously in a remote first company
- Good knowledge of Linux and networking (TCP/IP, VPNs, routing)
- Good knowledge of Git, GitOps, Gitlab CI
- Demonstrable experience working with Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, ArgoCD
- Demonstrable experience working with AWS (EC2, EKS, IAM, CloudTrail, S3, VPC etc...)
- Demonstrable experience working with Docker, ContainerD, Packer,
- Demonstrable experience working with Python or Golang
