The ideal candidate will have natural passion for math and intricate knowledge of assets, liabilities, profit and loss, taxes, and other financial transactions within an organization. The staff accountant will play an important support role, clarifying the financial outlook of our company and its clients with precise, proactive measures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Managing the daily AP process including entering bills, coding appropriate GL accounts, and processing weekly payments.
  • Ensuring all accounting practices follow legal guidelines and established accounting principles
  • Reconcile bank statements
  • Accurately record credit card expenses
  • Maintaining an approved vendor list
  • Reviewing expense reports for completeness and accuracy and recording in the GL
  • Backup to the AR function helping to create invoices and record payments
  • Research ad hoc accounting issues and develop various solutions or alternatives to present to the Controller
  • Process accounting mail
  • Perform month-end closing duties as assigned
  • Work closely with the department heads to understand and ensure accuracy of all financial reporting activity

Requirements

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting from a four-year college or university
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred

Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in accounting

Skills and Competencies

  • Knowledge of accounting and financial principles, regulations, and best practices
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Experience with NetSuite
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proficient with data analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving
  • Self-starter with the ability to find solutions for unstructured problems
  • Collaborative, well organized, and efficient
