Freelance Graphic Designer – Textile Prints (Remote)

This role involves refining an existing textile print to achieve a softer, more tonal, and diffused finish suitable for fabric production. The project requires adjusting the colours of a provided print file based on feedback from a recent fabric strike-off, which appeared too high in contrast and visually harsh. The designer will be responsible for rebalancing the print, reducing contrast, softening highlights, and improving midtone balance, ensuring the design remains repeatable and production-ready. The work is time-sensitive, with a turnaround of 3 to 5 days, and there is potential for future collaboration on additional print projects.

Deliverables

• Adjust and refine the provided textile print file to achieve a softer, more tonal, and diffused appearance on fabric.
• Reduce contrast, soften highlights, and improve midtone balance while maintaining the repeatability and integrity of the design.
• Prepare the final print file to meet digital textile printing and factory production requirements.
• Communicate progress and deliver the revised file within the specified 3 to 5 day timeframe.
• Ensure the final output aligns with the provided design direction and reference materials.

Requirements

• Proven experience in textile or surface pattern design, with a strong portfolio of print refinement and colour correction projects.
• Advanced proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and digital file preparation for textile production.
• Solid understanding of digital textile printing processes and requirements for repeatable designs.
• Ability to interpret feedback and translate visual references into production-ready artwork.
• Strong attention to detail, colour sensitivity, and ability to work to tight deadlines.
• Availability for immediate start and quick turnaround.
• Experience collaborating with fashion brands or in the apparel industry is highly desirable.
