"Eaton India Innovation Center (EIIC) is looking for a Senior Engineer - Data Center (Mechanical & Thermal) focused on Data Center Thermal Research to develop advanced cooling and thermal management technologies. This position is based at our office in Magarpatta City, Pune.
Key Responsibilities:
The Mechanical Engineering professional is responsible for mechanical design, FEA, testing, and documentation of new products to meet customer requirements. Conduct research and create designs for new product developments.
• Use SolidWorks CAD software to design, model, validate (FEA), and perform drafting/documentation of product designs and concepts
• Utilize knowledge of machinery, engineering practices, mathematics, building materials, and other physical sciences to complete product designs
• Identify and select materials required for production
• Define test plans and provide direction for product testing with support from lab staff
• Produce final drawings, specifications, and execute the production release process in the PDM system
• Work with production staff to develop and implement manufacturing processes for new and existing products
• Support the production/manufacturing process as needed to ensure all products meet required specifications and customer expectations
• Act as a manufacturing process engineer when required
• Understand how decisions impact product cost, performance, and quality
Experience / Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree or higher in Mechanical Engineering with 4-6 years of experience in a technical engineering role
• Experience with CNC machining, sheet metal, injection molding, tight tolerance components, etc.
• Experience with closed-loop refrigeration systems, pneumatic actuation, automation, thermocouples, RTDs, power supplies, fans, and thermoelectric coolers is a plus
• Proficient in CAD/3D solid modeling tools - SolidWorks 2018 or newer preferred
• Develop cooling solutions such as Cooling Distribution Units (CDUs), rear-door heat exchangers & manifolds, hot aisle containment systems, chillers, and facility water systems
• Evaluate and develop new cooling technologies for future data center products
• Collaborate with global partners, customers, and cross-functional Eaton teams to deliver innovative, efficient, and reliable cooling systems
• Ensure close integration of designs with mechanical and electrical engineering teams for safe, optimized end-to-end system performance"
Qualifications:
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical or Thermal Engineering
4 to 6 years of experience in engineering design and development of mechanical or thermal systems
