Job Description
Reporting to the Regional Branch Manager, the Area Manager, On-Premise is responsible for leading, developing, and driving performance across the San Antonio and Austin On-Premise markets. This role manages a team of Sales Representatives while owning execution, supplier alignment, and key account relationships across beer, wine, spirits and THC.
This is a field-forward leadership role requiring consistent market presence, hands-on coaching,
and disciplined execution.

- Lead, coach, and develop a team of On-Premise Sales Representatives across both markets
- Spend 3–4 days per week in the field conducting ride-withs and joint customer calls
- Establish clear expectations for execution, professionalism, and results
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and territory transitions
- Conduct performance reviews, coaching sessions, and corrective action when required
- Own delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual sales, distribution, and revenue goals
- Execute supplier business plans, scorecards, and priority initiatives
- Ensure consistent call frequency, routing discipline, and market coverage
- Drive pricing, menus, features, incentives, and promotional execution
- Analyze KPIs and market data to identify opportunities and performance gaps
- Build strong relationships with key on-premise operators and decision-makers
- Lead key account calls and assist with menu placements and promotions
- Develop new on-premise account opportunities
- Resolve customer issues while protecting MBG relationships
- Serve as a market ambassador for MBG and its supplier partners
- Ensure accurate CRM usage, reporting, and documentation
- Manage expenses, mileage, and policy compliance
- Maintain knowledge of Texas alcohol regulations
- Partner with HR on performance management and employee relations
- Collaborate with peers and the Area Manager to strategize on issues that disrupt goal achievement

- Require lifting/lowering, pushing, carrying, or pulling up to 45 lbs.
- Requires driving daily to and from customer accounts within assigned territories
- 21 years or older, High School Diploma or GED
- 5–7+ years of beverage alcohol sales experience with on-premise focus
- Prior sales leadership or senior sales experience preferred
- Strong beer, wine, spirits and THC knowledge
- Proven ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
- Demonstrated success achieving goals in competitive markets
- Ability to manage multiple projects effectively and professionally
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to interact across teams in a fast-paced environment while building relationships
- Must be proactive, resourceful, and efficient
- This position requires attendance at local meetings, local travel and occasional out-of-town travel
- Hold a valid and current Texas driver’s license within MVR policy guidelines throughout employment
- Ensure reliable, insured transportation, in accordance with company policy
- The policy must include the following minimum coverage: $100,000 for bodily injury, $300,000 for liability, and $50,000 for property damage
- Must be able to pass a background and drug screening for hire and randomly throughout employment
