Job Purpose
Lead and manage the financial operations of property development business of SDP Australia with a strong focus on project finance, feasibility, funding support, and commercial decision-making.
Job Responsibilities
Financial Leadership & Ownership
- Take full ownership of day-to-day financial operations, ensuring accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial outputs
- Oversee month-end closing, management reporting, and cash flow forecasting
- Ensure robust financial controls, processes, and governance frameworks are in place and continuously improved
Project Finance & Commercial Support
- Support and review project feasibility models, including sensitivity analysis on costs, pricing, and returns
- Provide financial insights on key metrics such as GDV, NDP, and cash flow to support decision-making
- Work closely with development and project teams on budgeting, cost tracking, and financial performance
Strategic & Business Partnering Role
- Act as a key finance partner to the BU Head, providing proactive financial advice and recommendations
- Translate financial data into meaningful insights to support business strategy and project outcomes
- Identify risks and opportunities early, and propose practical solutions
Funding, Valuation & External Stakeholder Management
- Support financing activities including lender engagement, financial information preparation, and reporting requirements
- Coordinate with valuers, auditors, tax advisors, and other external consultants
- Assist in equity/debt raising initiatives and financial structuring exercises
Compliance, Tax & Regulatory Oversight
- Ensure compliance with all statutory requirements including BAS, GST, and tax obligations
- Support structuring considerations (e.g. GST treatment, going concern, margin scheme where relevant)
- Manage audit processes and ensure timely resolution of audit matters
Team Leadership & Capability Building
- Supervise and mentor junior finance team members
- Review work outputs and ensure high standards of quality and accuracy
- Foster a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement
Continuous Improvement & Systems
- Identify and implement improvements in financial systems, reporting, and workflows
- Enhance efficiency and scalability of finance processes to support business growth
Education/ Professional Qualification
- CA/CPA qualification
- Degree in Accounting/Commerce/Business or relevant qualifications
Professional Experience
- 8–12 years’ experience in finance/accounting, with exposure to property development or similar industries
- Proven ability to work independently with minimal supervision and take full ownership of responsibilities
- Strong initiative and proactive mindset, able to identify issues and drive solutions
- Reliable and dependable team player with strong interpersonal skills
- High attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities
- Experience in feasibility analysis, project accounting, or development finance is highly regarded
- Comfortable operating in a lean, evolving business environment
