Requirements
What you'll bring:
- Provide expert cyber security advice to support system design, projects, operational activities and organisational initiatives.
- Perform certification, validation or assurance activities to support system accreditation and ongoing compliance.
- Analyse cyber security data, incidents and trends to inform reporting, risk assessments and continuous improvement activities.
- Contribute to the development, review and maintenance of cyber security policies, standards, guidelines and documentation.
- Assess information security practices and controls to ensure alignment with legislative, regulatory and policy requirements.
- Conduct research into emerging cyber threats, vulnerabilities and attack techniques to improve preventative and detective controls.
- Support the development and implementation of cyber security strategies at project, program or organisational level.
- Build and maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders to support the adoption of cyber security controls and best practices.
- Work collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams, contributing specialist expertise to group activities and outcomes.
- Interpret business objectives and adjust priorities to ensure cyber security outcomes align with operational needs
- Demonstrated experience providing cyber security advice across policy, governance, risk and technical domains.
- Experience contributing to, drafting or reviewing information security strategies, policies or standards at project or organisational level.
- Strong analytical skills, with experience assessing cyber security data, incidents or activities to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience conducting cyber security research, including investigating vulnerabilities, threat vectors and emerging risks.
- Sound understanding of information security principles, risk management and compliance obligations.
- Experience identifying and reporting non-compliance with legislation, regulation or policy, and supporting remediation activities.
- Knowledge and practical application of recognised cyber security frameworks and controls (such as Essential Eight or equivalent).
- Ability to communicate complex cyber security concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to work with minimal supervision while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment.
- Relevant tertiary qualification in Cyber Security, Information Technology or a related field, or equivalent demonstrated experience
