Birkbeck, University of London, is seeking a Lecturer in French for a one year fixed-term position, replacing a colleague on funded research leave.

As Lecturer, you will be highly proficient in French with an ability to teach language and modern and contemporary literature and culture (including film) at both BA and MA level.

You will be required to convene select modules and conduct administrative tasks associated with the role. Applicants should have a PhD, experience of teaching in higher education and an active programme of research. Please see person specification within the job pack for further criteria.

You will be based in the School of Creative Arts, Culture and Communication, within the Languages and Linguistics Subject Group. The School teaches and researches across the Arts and Humanities, and is home to the Centre for French, Francophone and Comparative Studies.

Remuneration

£44,247 rising to £60,858 per annum. The salary is Grade LLEC on the College's London Pay Scale which includes a consolidated Weighting/Allowance which applies only to staff whose normal contractual place of work is in the London area.
