Automation Reliability and Facility Maintenance SupervisorFort Worth, TX

McMaster-Carr is an innovative e-commerce company helping customers build and repair anything because we offer everything. We've thrived for over 120 years thanks to a relentless focus on customer experience, adaptability, and world-class operations. We're opening a new regional headquarters in Fort Worth and plan for it to be one of the most advanced facilities in our network - a modern distribution center and office where same-day shipping, speed, and excellence aren't aspirations, they're the standard. Curious, exceptional people are at the center of our evolution, turning new challenges and disruptive technologies into opportunities to learn new skills and get important work done that makes customers' lives better.

What You'll Do

McMaster-Carr's Fort Worth facility is a critical milestone in our automation journey. We operate extensive conveyor systems, an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS), industrial vehicle fleets, and an expanding ecosystem of warehouse robotics.

Beyond automation, we maintain the essential infrastructure that powers the entire site - including electrical distribution, HVAC, fire protection, building utilities, and data center infrastructure. The scope here is broad by design, and for the right person, that breadth is the opportunity.

We're seeking a credible Automation Maintenance Supervisor who is comfortable walking the floor to troubleshoot alongside technicians while simultaneously planning staffing and project execution. You will be the bridge between strategic reliability goals and hands-on execution, driving a culture of high-quality work, safety, and continuous improvement.

In this role, you'll:

  • Lead day-to-day maintenance operations, including hiring, training, and developing a team of maintenance experts responsible for the reliability of our automation and infrastructure
  • Execute and advance our maintenance strategy, supporting a proactive culture driven by preventive, predictive, and condition-based maintenance programs
  • Facilitate efforts related to uptime and reliability across conveyor systems, ASRS, robotics, backup power, fire protection, HVAC, and building utilities
  • Lead formal root cause analysis investigations for chronic equipment failures or major downtime events, and implement permanent corrective actions to improve mean time between failures through data-driven processes
  • Partner with maintenance experts, operations, and engineering teams on facility upgrades, capital projects, and the commissioning of new automation technology
  • Champion a safety-first environment, ensuring compliance with OSHA standards, including LOTO / 147, and internal safety policies across all activities

Who you are

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, mechatronics, or equivalent
  • 5+ years of professional experience in maintenance and engineering leadership in fast-paced industrial environments, including critical building systems and automated systems
  • Experience leading and developing a team of maintenance technicians and/ or engineers
  • Experience with root cause analysis and demonstrated skills as a credible, technical leader
  • Strong communication, prioritization, and organization skills applied through effective partnership with technical experts, operations, and engineering
  • Commitment to personal, professional, and team growth
