Location

Boston Seaport, MA (Hybrid – 3 Days Per Week)

Role Overview

Nasuni is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst to join our Financial Planning & Analysis team and serve as the primary finance partner supporting our Engineering and Research & Development organizations.

In this role, you will help leaders make informed investment decisions by translating engineering plans, cloud infrastructure spending, hiring activity, and product development priorities into clear financial insights. You will own forecasting, reporting, headcount planning, variance analysis, and financial modeling while helping improve the systems and processes that drive planning accuracy.

This role is ideal for a finance professional who enjoys partnering closely with technical organizations, building scalable financial models, and influencing decision-making through data-driven insights.

This role is not intended for candidates seeking accounting-focused responsibilities or purely reporting-oriented finance positions.

Level & Scope Definition

You will operate with significant autonomy while partnering directly with Engineering and R&D leadership.

You will:

  • Independently manage recurring planning and reporting activities
  • Recommend actions based on financial performance and trends
  • Drive process improvements and automation opportunities
  • Influence investment decisions through financial analysis
  • Collaborate across Finance, Recruiting, Engineering, Data & Analytics, and Operations

Success requires balancing analytical rigor with strong business partnership skills.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary finance business partner supporting Engineering and R&D leaders.
  • Own departmental budgeting, forecasting, and expense planning processes.
  • Manage monthly reporting for headcount, hiring forecasts, vendor spend, cloud infrastructure costs, and budget-to-actual performance.
  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to maintain accurate hiring forecasts and workforce planning assumptions.
  • Build and enhance driver-based financial models linking product investments, infrastructure costs, and staffing plans to business outcomes.
  • Deliver monthly and quarterly variance analyses with actionable recommendations.
  • Support administration, reporting, and optimization within Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Identify opportunities to automate reporting, forecasting, and analysis workflows through collaboration with Data & Analytics and responsible use of AI-enabled tools.
  • Maintain high standards of financial accuracy, documentation, and operational rigor.
  • Support strategic analyses, planning initiatives, and special projects as needed.

Qualifications

Must Have

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or related field.
  • 4–6 years of FP&A, corporate finance, or financial analysis experience.
  • Experience in a high-growth SaaS or technology company.
  • Advanced Excel and financial modeling skills.
  • Experience owning budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis processes.
  • Ability to communicate financial insights to non-finance stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of financial statements and business performance drivers.

Preferred

  • Experience supporting Engineering, Product, R&D, or other technical organizations.
  • Experience analyzing cloud infrastructure or technology operating expenses.
  • Experience with Workday Adaptive Planning.
  • Experience with NetSuite, Salesforce, or similar enterprise systems.
  • Experience supporting system implementations or reporting transformations.

Ideal

  • Experience supporting rapidly scaling SaaS organizations.
  • Exposure to driver-based planning methodologies.
  • Experience building automated reporting workflows.
  • Demonstrated use of AI tools to improve analysis, forecasting, reporting, or operational efficiency while maintaining strong validation and financial controls.

Experience Guidelines

  • 4–6 years total FP&A or corporate finance experience.
  • 2+ years supporting business functions through budgeting and forecasting.
  • Experience working within subscription-based SaaS operating models preferred.
