Role Overview
The Full Stack Engineer contributes to the design and delivery of products within a squad, helping to build secure, reliable, and accessible software while maintaining high engineering standards and a good developer experience. The role involves using skills in Spring Boot microservices (Kotlin/Java) and modern web technologies (React/TypeScript) to deliver features across the stack. The engineer will contribute to good engineering practices in observability, CI/CD, security, performance, and accessibility, helping systems meet the standards expected of a UK bank.
What You Will Do
You will use your skills to deliver features across the stack, contribute to good engineering practices, and help systems meet the standards expected of a UK bank. You will also contribute to Architecture Decision Records (ADRs) and follow organisation-wide patterns and standards.

Requirements
- Experience building and operating Spring Boot microservices in Kotlin or Java
- Good knowledge of React and TypeScript
- Ability to design and deliver well-structured features within an existing architecture
- Good understanding of distributed systems fundamentals
- Good understanding of secure coding practices
- Experience with testing, CI/CD pipelines, and observability tooling
- Ability to improve code quality through refactoring
- Experience collaborating through code review, pairing, and technical discussions
- Experience using GenAI tools such as GitHub Copilot, Codex or Claude Code
