RevOps Systems Administrator

Revenue Operations (RevOps) Systems Administrator
Revenue Operations • Hireology • Chicago, IL • Full-Time
About the Role
We are seeking a proactive, curious, and adaptable RevOps Systems Administrator with 5+ years of system administration experience to join our Revenue Operations team and be a solutions partner across Sales, Marketing, Finance, Customer Success, and Product. In this dynamic and multifaceted role, you’ll own our go-to-market tech stack, connecting our tools, data, and teams.
This is not a narrowly scoped admin role — it’s hands-on, cross-functional, and ideal for someone who thrives with autonomy, moves fast in ambiguity, and holds themselves accountable for outcomes, not just outputs.
If you like digging into data, connecting the dots across systems, troubleshooting the hard stuff, and leaving things better than you found them, we’d love to meet you.
Key Responsibilities
Tech Stack Ownership & Architecture
- Serve as the primary owner and architect of Hireology’s Revenue Operations tech stack. You are responsible for how our systems work, how they integrate, and how they evolve.
- Maintain deep, current knowledge of each platform in our stack, proactively identifying capability gaps, redundancies, or integration opportunities before they become problems.
- Own the cross-system data flow: ensure that data moves cleanly and consistently across platforms, and that integrations are healthy, documented, and built to last.
- Drive tool consolidation, configuration improvements, and integration enhancements across the stack.
- Serve as the team’s first point of contact for new tool evaluations and integration assessments, bringing structured analysis and a clear point of view to those conversations.
Our current stack includes: HubSpot, Salesforce, 6sense, Gong, DocuSign, LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Nooks, and more. We also collaborate closely with teams that own ZoomInfo, RingLead, Zendesk, Vanta, and Zuora.
Salesforce Administration & Platform Ownership
- Act as the primary Salesforce Administrator (Sales Cloud). This is a required foundation, not the ceiling of the role.
- Own overall platform health: user access, profiles and permissions, record types, flows, reports, dashboards, and validation rules.
- Manage regular platform hygiene: data cleanups, sandbox refreshes, package administration, and release readiness.
- Partner with a Salesforce developer to determine the right blend of declarative and programmatic solutions.
While Salesforce is your required foundation, other platforms in our stack will frequently be the priority. Over time you should be as comfortable owning HubSpot or 6sense as you are owning Salesforce.
Cross-Stack Troubleshooting & Problem Solving
- Be the team’s primary troubleshooter. When something breaks, behaves unexpectedly, or doesn’t match expectations, you’re the first line of investigation.
- Diagnose issues that span multiple systems: why didn’t this trigger, where did this data come from, why don’t these reports match. Resolve them end-to-end.
- Approach ambiguous problems with structure: form a hypothesis, test it, document what you find, and communicate the outcome clearly.
- Research and resolve independently before escalating. You know how to use documentation, sandbox environments, and your own instincts to work through the hard stuff.
Stakeholder Partnership & Process Design
- Work closely with stakeholders to understand their needs and translate them into system solutions.
- Gather requirements, recommend improvements, and deliver solutions that are thoughtful, scalable, and documented.
- Help streamline and optimize lead-to-revenue processes through configuration, automation, and tool enhancements.
- Communicate system changes, updates, and best practices clearly across the RevOps team and the departments we support.
AI Tooling & Innovation
- Actively engage with AI tools as part of how you work, including Claude, which our team uses to accelerate research, documentation, analysis, and system problem-solving.
- Bring a genuine curiosity about how AI can extend the capabilities of our tech stack, surfacing new tools, use cases, or workflows that make the team sharper and faster.
- Experience with AI-assisted operations workflows is a plus; openness and enthusiasm for learning and applying them is required.
Tool Evaluation & Vendor Involvement
- Serve as the team’s primary point of contact for new tool and integration evaluations, assessing fit, surfacing risks, and making a clear recommendation.
- Engage with vendor reps and stay current on platform roadmaps and capabilities across the stack.
- Partner with RevOps leadership on contract renewals. Your hands-on context around usage, value, and gaps directly informs those conversations.
Access Management, Onboarding & Compliance
- Own system onboarding and offboarding across the stack.
- Manage user access, permissions, and provisioning with accuracy and a security-first mindset.
- Serve as RevOps’ primary point of contact for SOC 2 compliance work, partnering with Engineering and our Vanta administration to ensure our systems meet requirements.
Documentation & Workflow Management
- Track work through Salesforce Cases and Jira. Keep your queue current and your communication proactive.
- Maintain accurate, useful documentation in Confluence.
- Follow change management practices that ensure transparency, continuity, and zero surprises for the teams that depend on these systems.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in a systems administration or GTM operations role (inclusive of Salesforce), with demonstrated ownership of tools and processes across the full stack.
- Salesforce Admin experience (Sales Cloud) includes strong working knowledge of the data model, flows, Data Loader, reporting, and dashboards.
- Salesforce Administrator Certification (ADM-201) is a plus.
- Comfortable managing Salesforce platform maintenance tasks: sandbox refreshes, release readiness, installed packages, and data quality.
- Experience collaborating with Salesforce developers to evaluate and implement both declarative and custom solutions.
- Familiarity with additional RevOps tools — HubSpot, 6sense, Gong, DocuSign, or similar — and a genuine interest in going deep on whatever the stack requires.
- A troubleshooter’s instinct: you form a hypothesis, test it, document what you find, and resolve before escalating.
- Ability to analyze and interpret data, draw conclusions, and communicate findings clearly to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Experience with or active interest in AI tools as part of your day-to-day workflow. Openness to learning and applying new AI capabilities is expected.
- Strong organizational skills, a detail-oriented mindset, and the ability to manage competing priorities without losing quality.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and cross-functionally, with a track record of taking ownership and following through.
- Comfortable with the unglamorous parts of the role: onboarding, offboarding, documentation, platform maintenance.
- You’ll own the infrastructure, not a slice of it. This role comes with real accountability for how our tech stack functions across systems, across teams, and across the full data lifecycle. If you want a seat at the table where the architecture decisions get made, this is it.
- You’ll have autonomy to do the work your way. We’re not going to hand you a script. We’ll align on priorities and outcomes, and then trust you to figure out the how. If you do your best work when you’re given room to move, this environment is built for you.
- The stack will keep growing, and so will you. There will always be something new to learn, evaluate, or build. If that energizes you, you’ll thrive here.
- You’ll be surrounded by people who take this work seriously. Our RevOps team values precision, accountability, and continuous improvement, and we expect the same from each other.
- We’re investing in AI and we want you to help lead that. We use tools like Claude to make our team faster and sharper, and we’re actively looking for ways to extend that across our stack. If you’ve been waiting for a team that takes AI tooling seriously, this is it.
