Overview

We are a ship repair and industrial coatings company specializing in large commercial vessels. We are looking for a Marine Project Manager / Estimator who can step in immediately, take ownership of projects, and help drive growth in our Florida operations.

This role is not entry-level — we need someone who can operate independently, manage both estimating and execution, and contribute to both project success and business development.

What You’ll Be Responsible For

Estimating & Pre-Construction

  • Review and sanitize incoming bids and RFQs to ensure alignment with company capabilities
  • Build accurate, competitive estimates using internal programs
  • Collaborate with leadership to finalize pricing and proposals
  • Develop estimates for ship repair, blasting, and coatings scopes

Project Management & Execution

  • Manage projects from award through closeout
  • Coordinate with superintendents, foremen, and crews to ensure execution stays on track
  • Track labor, materials, and budgets to maintain profitability
  • Identify and manage change orders and scope growth opportunities
  • Communicate progress, challenges, and updates with customers and stakeholders

Operations & Leadership

  • Work closely with the Marine Paint Superintendent and hold field operations accountable
  • Participate in production meetings with clients, primes, and internal teams
  • Set the tone for project teams — accountability, urgency, and professionalism
  • Support a strong team culture built on mutual respect and performance

Business Development & Growth

  • Build and maintain relationships with customers, contractors, and partners
  • Identify opportunities to upsell and expand project scope once vessels are on-site
  • Recognize additional work opportunities and confidently present them to clients
  • Help grow company presence in the Florida market (primarily Tampa, but not limited to)

What We’re Looking For

  • Experience in marine repair, coatings, shipyard operations, or heavy industrial projects
  • Proven ability to handle both estimating and project management responsibilities
  • Strong understanding of blasting, coatings, and marine production processes
  • Ability to read drawings, specs, and bid documents
  • Comfortable managing budgets, labor tracking, and job costing
  • Strong communication skills with both field teams and clients
  • Ability to operate independently in a fast-paced, high-demand environment

Mindset & Culture Fit

  • Takes ownership — doesn’t wait to be told what to do
  • Comfortable making decisions and standing behind them
  • Willing to advocate for the company, the project, and the team
  • Understands how to balance customer relationships with company profitability
  • Works hard, supports the team, and contributes to a strong culture

Compensation

  • $90K–$145K base salary
  • Performance-based bonus opportunities

Benefits

  • Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance
  • 401(k)
  • Paid Time Off (PTO)
  • Paid Sick Leave
