Head of Engineering

🚨 Hiring: Head of Engineering | Quantum / Photonics / Advanced Sensing Startup | Greater Boston Area 🚨

I’m currently partnered with a venture-backed deep-tech startup developing next-generation quantum imaging and photonic computing technologies for aerospace, defense, and advanced sensing applications.

The company is looking for a Head of Engineering to become the operational backbone of a rapidly scaling engineering organization working on highly cutting-edge hardware systems at the intersection of:

• Quantum Technologies

• Photonics & Optics

• Advanced Imaging Systems

• Aerospace & Defense

• AI / Edge Processing

• Semiconductor & Sensor Technologies

This is a highly cross-functional leadership role combining:

✅ Engineering Operations

✅ Technical Program Management

✅ People Leadership

✅ Hardware + Software Coordination

✅ Startup Scaling

Key Responsibilities:

• Drive engineering execution and operational cadence

• Coordinate optics, software, electrical, mechanical, and systems teams

• Oversee complex technical programs and deliverables

• Support scaling of engineering organization and hiring efforts

• Manage vendor, manufacturing, and infrastructure coordination

• Partner closely with executive leadership on long-term growth strategy

Ideal Background:

• Engineering leadership experience within deep-tech environments

• Aerospace, defense, photonics, optics, semiconductor, robotics, or advanced sensing experience

• Strong program management + organizational leadership skills

• Experience operating within highly technical, fast-paced environments

• Comfortable wearing multiple hats in an early-stage company setting

📍 Greater Boston Area — Full Time Onsite
