We are seeking a Product Manager to own and grow a defined portfolio of products within a distribution environment. This role is responsible for product strategy, lifecycle management, vendor alignment, and cross-functional execution to drive revenue growth, margin improvement, and customer satisfaction. The Product Manager serves as the internal expert and primary liaison between suppliers, sales, marketing, and operations.
Key Responsibilities
Product Strategy & Lifecycle Management
- Own the end-to-end lifecycle for assigned product categories, from onboarding and launch through optimization and sunset.
- Develop product roadmaps aligned with business goals, supplier strategies, and customer demand.
- Identify opportunities for product line expansion, rationalization, and differentiation across channels.
Supplier & Vendor Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned manufacturers and suppliers.
- Lead pricing strategy, margin management, vendor negotiations, and annual line reviews.
- Coordinate new product introductions, discontinuations, and vendor programs.
Sales Enablement & Market Execution
- Partner closely with Sales to support product positioning, pricing models, and go-to-market strategies.
- Develop sales tools including product guides, competitive comparisons, training materials, and launch communications.
- Act as a subject matter expert to support key customer conversations and complex opportunities.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work with Marketing to support campaigns, promotions, and product content.
- Collaborate with Operations and Supply Chain to align inventory strategies, demand planning, and product availability.
- Coordinate with Finance on pricing structures, rebates, and profitability analysis.
Market & Data Analysis
- Monitor product performance, sales trends, customer feedback, and competitive activity.
- Analyze data to drive decisions around assortment, pricing, forecasting, and investment priorities.
- Translate market insights into actionable recommendations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, or a related field.
- 3–7+ years of experience in product management, category management, or merchandising, preferably within a distribution or B2B environment.
- Experience working directly with manufacturers or supplier partners.
- Strong understanding of pricing, margins, inventory dynamics, and sales-driven organizations.
- Proven ability to manage multiple products and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
